Ok! Thank you all for your replies. I'm going to get a volt meter (think I misplaced mine when we moved to CO), get the current battery load tested, and most likely get a new battery tomorrow.

    I shall report back.

The amp alt link is bolted from the bottom of the fuse box and will indeed not let you start the truck.

Pop the top off the cover and link across with a screwdriver start the truck and get it to where your going to fix it

Why do you keep cranking it expecting something to happen when you've got 3 blown fuses?! Replace them and then see where you're at.

It's kinda backyard but you can pop the top off the alt fuse and mush the blown fuse ends together. If it starts you can replace it later

I see you have to take the fuse box assembly apart to get to the 2 bolts connecting this fuse.

Found this write up to do this! https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-box-battery-wire-replacement-upgrade.420450/

Oh cool! Where did you find this list? So the ALT fuse does effect starting. Now to see if I can get this fuse box a part.

I'll see what I can find at work tomorrow hard to search on my phone.
That list is from the repair manual

Haven't been cranking it. Maybe I explained poorly.

I did try pushing the leads together and using the screw driver across the fuse connectors. No joy on starting.

However, I can hear some kind of noise in the engine bay. Sounds electronic or something. Not like its cranking almost like a whining.

@OKTACO I appreciate it! I did find a write up though. Edited previous post. Thank you for taking the time.

I’m still betting 10 to 1 the battery has a dead cell, I’ve had this issue several times during 43 years of driving.

More than likely your battery is toast, hook up a jump box or jump start it.

Can't find the manual on it, starting to question myself on it whether it does bolt from the bottom on the tacoma

Lesson learned on checking the cables and double checking the cables before jumping anything. Besides frying fuses, a spark can make the gases expand at a rapid rate with you standing right there.

The possibility of hooking Jumper Cables up backwards - and doing some very expensive damage to my truck - is why I no longer use them. I now carry a Snap-On jump box. That prevents me from possibly frying anything in my truck. And to prevent frying anything in the vehicle I'm jumping, the Snap-On box will beep at you if you hook it up backwards.

It is bolt from the bottom (see thread I posted above). Got the fuse from Toyota too ($20.99). We are getting a snow storm right now and the tow truck couldn't get the taco in the garage so I'm waiting for the weather to clear up today to try and take the fuse box a part. Thanks for looking man!

Going to replace the fuse first since it is blown anyway and appears to be related to starting. After the fuse is replaced I'll swap the battery out as well. Now that I think of it, the truck has been feeling a little sluggish making it over the mountain passes and it has taken a little longer to start over the last couple weeks.

Yup! Think I am going to be picking up one of those jump boxes and lots of extra fuses. We spend a lot of time in the back country and were actually headed there. This would of sucked if I was in the middle of the mountains and it happened.

the whining sound is kinda scary. one last thing i would recommend is try to turn the engine over manually.. you can use the crank shaft pulley mounting bolts and use the appropriate socket and ratchet. if it turns over your in the clear. if not you'll have to pull the starter and crank it, if it cranks then your starter is seized.

    Update!

Alt fuse is replaced and all the blown fuses I could find are replaced. Going to get a new battery now to hook up and see if we have POWAH! Wish me luck.
