South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

Probably 3/4 of the people who work here on the manufacturing side are off today, but the side of our company who works for the NY corporate side has to work. It's weird.

 

Yes! The more you have, the better!

 

I think there is going to be a rude awakening for some tomorrow they come in....

 

I have always told my wife to keep a log of her work issues. print emails and file in a folder. just...in...case you need it, you have a record......employers look out for their best interest. you have to look out for yours. nobody is going to look out for you, so you have to do it yourself.....

 

Omg, lol. My holiday schedule is the same- except I do not have Veterans day off. Its a free country- those employees can enact their free agency status and work where ever they want, anytime!

Kind reminds me of retail employees bitching about working on holidays... even though they chose to work there.

 

Truth- for the positive AND the negative stuff.

 

Work cutting into TW time...?

It is absolutely the craziest thing I have dealt with in 30 plus years on the job....

 

Doesn't help any that this is a "Right to work" state. I wasn't forced out of my job, I took voluntary layoff because I have an adequate amount of reserve that the company put back for me in such a case.
But their were tons of 2-4 yr new hires that were forced out the door with little built up in their accts just because the company couldn't afford to do a mandatory layoff, bump people and retrain others.

I've yet to see a single dollar from either the state of SC or my company. Hopefully tomorrow is the day.

Smell- lol!

After wheeling with everyone on Saturday, I had to drive straight to AVL and stay the night to be on call- 45 min response time- just in case. My distributor rep wanted to take a couple days off to go to KY. One of our spine surgeons was on trama call... even had my lil man with me, lol.

No MLK day off huh? I guess next month's President's day you won't get it off either? I also feel guilty having today off....almost

 

Another "fun fact" with my job: If I take vacation- I still can not ignore my customers. Last summer on my big trip- I took calls from customers and distributors while in Vegas, North Rim Grand Canyon, Moab and Denver. While not always busy, I am always on.

 

That sucks......

Cool thing- I can work from anywhere. Bad thing- I have to work from everywhere!

LOL I own my business.....what is a day off? Hahahahaahahah Mmmmmmmmmm at lunch tho! Fishnet seafood, fried shrimp and red rice! Added some mystery seasoning to the red rice. I may need ice cream and a fire extinguisher. Next time, do NOT get the random seasoning that looks like season salt!
