Maybe to hype up the Raptor version when it comes out?

Maybe because it was hurting F150 sales? Not sure

Nope. They don't even use it in the JK or JL period. There is a chance the 5.7 L Hemi will make it because they literally put that shit on everything. It's kind of a junk motor now since it really hasn't seen any love in a decade. They need to do a major update on it but FCA is short on cash, especially since they are finally redesigning the decade old Ram as well.

Not sure why people are complaining about the engine. They are giving a consumers a more powerful engine than any of the V6 options available in the class. Even if GM put the 4.3 L in the Colorado I'm willing to be the 2.3 L Ecoboost will outperform it.

Yea, that redesigned Ram is now going to be hybrid, or as they called it a ¨Mild Hybrid version¨.

I'm kind of scared to see what FCA does. They already came out and said they are delaying the release of the Ram due to a lack of funds for the project. That's not good.

Wonder if the new 4WD Ranger will be rockin’ the Ford Twin Traction beam up front??

Like......what’s better for handling than a shit-load of unsprung weight and janky camber.

Very few probably. But it's nice to see the Ranger can handle it.

On another note, a lot of people were complaining about the Ranger's front end. This video explains it was designed specifically for max airflow into the engine compartment for cooling as well as creating bow waves to move enough water away from the intake area during water crossings. I'm sure the Hilux's front end was designed the same way since they look similar.

The Ranger is definitely a function over form truck. And I'm glad we are getting 90% of the global version here.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:
I was referring to the more roundish features their front ends have which is opposite from the Tacoma's more square look.

Yeah that makes sense. Or they could even just test the waters to see how it does and gauge demand after. Especially as they have a tonne of resources they can pull from

And big plans to go hybrid/ all electric in the years to come.

ICE is on the way out, so only one engine/ transmission option makes sense, imo.

New midsize truck with a turbo 4 banger. I've been impressed with the ecoboost motors. Looks like it can replace my DD one day and still beat on the taco on weekends.

You can't say that here, someone might get their feelings hurt.:crapstorm:
I cant wait to see some interior dimensions on the Ranger. If it has more headroom and more rear legroom, I will be getting one. Really liking the blue or the gray one. XLT with Sport package, because I can guess the Lariat will have leather seats and I don't want that.

LOL I should rephrase. My DD is a car and my tacoma is a weekend warrior. Tacoma would stay and ranger would be my everyday mall crawler.

The Jeep 4.0 was developed in the 80's. Not a chance that they will bring it back.
