I got everything at BRAKE WORLD. I upgraded everything to DISC ITALIA with powder coated calipers. I paid $744 for everything, including shipping ($54). CHUX TRUX of INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI did the install ($138). Here are some pictures, but they're not very good. It's raining here and had to take them in the garage. I'm sure you can get cheaper parts through Ebay and online sites, but since it's a really well kept truck, I wanted to get some very good parts for it.

    Solution:
    -199mm S13WE brake calipers from 99 to 03 Tundra with 12.5” rotors.
    -Larger rotors, larger pistons.

    Required materials:
-S13WE brake calipers and corresponding rotors. I ordered “2001 Toyota Tundra v8 4x4” parts at the auto parts store.
    -Brake pads.
-16” wheels, with proper backspacing. (Possibly 4” backspacing, I used 4.5” with ample room left)
    -Brake fluid.

    Required tools:
    -Drill and bits.
-14mm and 17mm sockets, 10mm wrench, lug nut wrench.
    -Jack and jack-stands.

    Modifications required:
-Bending the dust cover / disk shield.
-Drilling out the end of the banjo bolt approx 1/8”-1/4” deep.

    Cost Total - $305.61:
    -S13WE calipers $90 from eBay.
    -Rotors from AutoZone $165 w/tax.
-Performance Friction brake pads (Same as TRD brake pad) w/Lifetime warranty at AutoZone $44.16 w/tax.
    -Dot 3/ Dot 4 brake fluid $6.45 w/tax at Pep-Boys.

Your are right sir ! They should of come with tundra brakes. I'm glad I went with this mod. I spent more than double than what you could do it for, but the upgraded rotors, calipers and pads will pay for itself if I ever need to stop in an emergency.

Oh, by the way, I went to high school in Waipahu my soph and junior years. Can't tell you when, that was many, many moons ago.....

Truck needs brakes now. This might be the time for the upgrade.

If you do this, take lots of pictures. You did such a great job documenting your lift install, I hope you'll consider doing the same for this.

Just a side note... drilled holes, slots and bling can be good and can suck.

I have had a number of bimmers and have rolled with most every configuration on ride such as 7's 3's and M3. I like the look of the slots and holes but never noticed any difference.

If you do a lot of off roading you may be best served by smooth rotors as to not keep mud and small stones in the mix.

    Good luck with everything!!!

I have also heard bad things about drilled and slotted rotors... I have an auto teacher at school that has an old Porsche 944 turbo that he races and he said he only uses smooth rotors. The holes are just another place for cracks to start when the brakes heat up. Don't know if thats really an issue with our trucks, but something to think about.

    Very, very nice! Very clean!

You are right... a real need to put smooth chamfers/radius' on things that go through so much stress.

You actually compromise/lose surface area when you drill or slot a rotor with out increasing diameter.

Well... in the day. It was to release gases from between the rotor and the pad and to create more surface area to cool the brakes; used to reduce brake 'fade' - but I know you knew that! :)

Those gas issues only occur under extreme repeated heat cycles ie racing ... The have no effectiveness on a dd.

Will do. My mechanic gave me a contact for brake parts but he keeps giving me the wrong phone number. I was hoping to do it this weekend, but gotta source everything, might have to wait a bit.
