Morning all. My youngest just went back up to Buffalo till her next break in March. I hate that she is 7 hours away. Got word that my boss is trying to pull me out of my in-house job to send me running around the city again. FML.

I'm too short for a lot of today's dirt bikes. That's why I went with an older dual sport, they're lower. I grew up riding old dual shock bikes so the taller mono-shocks aren't comfortable for me.
Finding places to ride is a challenge. Mine mostly sees pavement (actually, that's all it's seen since I got it). I want to get it out to my parent's place in NY sometime. Lots of trails out there.

    Morning, fellow NETW-ers.
Snow forecast for tomorrow, 4-8-ish inches. Just enough to cover up the brown again, but not enough to be useful. Bah. Stupid rain.

And platform motorcycle boots, but it seems like they'd make shifting a real pain. You'd have to get the heel-toe shifter setup, or you'd never get out of 1st gear.

With small horsepower. I'm 5'-9" and 250lbs. I can't ride a 125 which is basically the size bike I can flat foot.
I ride street but after getting run over by a blind bitch this year I am considering sticking to the dirt. But it most likely won't two wheels, I'll just stick with my wheelers. They are legal to ride up here a lot more places.

GP shifting FTW! Then you'd at least have 2nd and up!
I've been sort of keeping an eye out for an older dual sport with dual shocks. Something like the XT500, lots of power but in a much shorter package. Actually, the newer DR650 is shorter than my DR350. I believe the KLR650 is similar, lower seat height for touring but still still get around alright off road if you know what you're doing. An SM model would be fun, best of both worlds!

I can ride a KLR650 if it has the lowering links they make. Otherwise I need a milk crate to get on it.

Yep, I bought a few this summer as well, just before I crashed my street bike. Wheeling is fun, I can see why you guys like to do it in your trucks.

Yeah, I'm glad the F150 came with them; with my short little legs it'd be quite a climb to get into
