Yeah, that’s why I bought that red XJ right after returning home from the first RC trip that Karen ran hers.

I ended up selling it, but I ALMOST crossed over to the dark side lol

I know. Those Jeeps are good. I need a dedicated trail rig that I can go more extreme with. Then the fun begins!

way too far for a day trip for me, more highway driving than wheeling

I know, right? I see myself getting a full-size diesel and trailer in the next couple of years. Then, the Taco will be my dedicated trail rig. I know it’s not ideal, but I’ve spent too much time and money on it at this point.

That’s great and all, but can you confidently drive one cross country, wheel the piss out of it, and come home in one piece?

Lol. I misread how you worded that above.

To be fair though, most people aren’t too worried about driving their wheeling rigs cross country. We’re just crazy I think.

I was able to warranty my synthetic winch line. Smittybilt said that the line is NOT warranty-able but that they are sending me a one time replacement as a courtesy. So now I'll have a full line on the drum and also a 25ish foot extension if need be.

Any thoughts on what I can do with the other 75ish feet?

Sounds good. I need to get some thimbles first for the extension. I saw some crush proof ones from masterpull.com. anything else I may need for the soft shackles? I want to make a few of them. I'm sure I'll have a lot of rope left over too.

I'll see if work has any! My boss might even order some for me. We have big shrink tubing but I don't think it's self adhesive. I actually never saw that before, never knew that was a thing.

I'd make an extension out of the 75' one and some soft shackles out of the 25' one if possible. A 25' extension really isn't too terribly long, especially taking into account having to make loops on the end. The ARB one is 65' long for reference.

Although I highly doubt we'll ever need the extensions at rausch or AOAA with how many trees there are :goingcrazy: I still haven't used mine

Haha another good point. Nice to have I guess? I have about 100 feet of this rope that I can do whatever I want with. Do you have any other ideas rather than an extension?

I haven't the slightest clue on what can be done with synthetic line. The soft shackles was a good idea, but I don't know if I'd trust my handywork on something taking that much load.
