Wow!!! I want one!! Or some...hmm lemme get all of em haha

Forgot to post this earlier today. It's not BBQ pics, but who doesn't love getting their delivery of cooking wood tho!!! 2 wheelbarrows of Pecan and 1 wheelbarrow of Plum!

Should be seasoned by the time summer rolls around to try some of this plum. Although I will try some smoking some while it green to see how it compares to apple IMG_0018.jpgIMG_0022.jpg

Plum and peach are pretty similar IMO, sweet but not a heavy flavour.

I'll let you know! Best part of living in VA I have access to all kinds of splt logs and chunks if in stock. Most likely do chicken with the plum! Still need to try maple...

Where I get all my wood. He also ships wood out! FYI.

Maple is somewhere between the fruit woods and pecan IMO. I usually keep some on hand if I’m doing something for the “smoke weenies” here’s my last haul from Todd. Well over half the hickory is gone, the 1lb maple is unmolested.

Nice wood and setup! Why don’t ya add some evenly spaced cedar pickets on 2x4 with hinges as a gate in front of that wood? Would give some protection and air flow help cut down on mold etc..

Why vacuum pack and freezer paper? Isn’t vacuum pack sufficient to stop freezer burn? We don’t get any in our deep freeze -15*F and fully frosted.

I totally would but it takes a lot of venison. Maybe next year I'll go back north for late season rifle and really stock up for that.

Or maybe I'll try a beef and pork only one and see what costs would be. Could be a fun side venture :D

You could also try a small amount of Venison in some to give it the flavor but cut back so it's not overpowering. I love venison but the wife isn't as fond of it so she takes it in smaller doses. BTW looks REALLY good.

I'll have to play around with the numbers and see if it'd be feasible. And I'll definitely look into the axis route.

I actually never cover my wood shed. Only reason why it's covered now is cuz it's been snowing a lot lately. however that is a good idea. Thanks!!
