    Just an FYI

My Flex plate was cracked BUT I was not able to tell just from the inspection plate being removed. The only way I knew for sure was when I Took the Trans out.

Don't worry. I stay pretty quiet these days. But I'm on here everyday to laugh at idiots like you. ;)

Well, the keys given to me by PO are starting to have a hard time turning the ignition. @gunny1005 is it possible to order a set (ign, both driver and passenger side key cylinders) with matching new keys?

Not sure if you're saying the ignition is going bad or the key is, but I went to Lowes and got a new set of keys made for like $5.

Nice. It's pretty easy to get your Technician license. I didn't use any books, just studied through an online course (~$25) for about 4 hours. Just mentioning it as an option for you...

I figured it would worth the 20 bucks to have a book to read. I dont know much about it at all so Id generally like to learn more as well as prepare for the exam. Tests are easy for me, so not really worried about that.

Its the key. Def the key, it was the only key the PO gave me and I made a copy of it. Making a copy of a bad key just doesn't help.

Ahh. Yeah the PO gave me a key that would bend when I tried unlocking the door so I went and got a new set made.

Can Toyota just cut a new key from the VIN? Might be possible then you wouldnt have a copy of a worn key

To be on the safe side I rather have new keys made. I'll also ask local locksmith how much they charge to re-key the cylinders.

Yes they can as long as the vehicle is newer than 92 or so. Have to bring your registration showing you own it tho.
