    Solid meme. haha.

Maybe I can get us back on the rails.

I still love my Taco. The main reason I'm excited about the new Ranger is because it will introduce some much needed competition to our segment. Midsize trucks are way more fun than the mall-crawler road beasts.

I think there's a chance Ford could disappoint on the power with this 2.3l. Might be a more conservative tune than some are expecting.

The most basic engine in the current F150 puts out 290hp and 265lbs torque.

I would be surprised if they do much more than that bc cannibalization.

That or the ranger will need to be priced higher to maintain F150 margins and then it doesn't matter.

Everybody just ignore the Ridgeline and we will all get through this unbanned. No promises though...

Ford is getting into this segment because they realize the F150 can't compete for every customer. Some people, alot of people right now, want something smaller. I expect a mild tune but something much better than the base V6 F150. The base V6 F150 isn't aimed at the average consumer, it's aimed at fleet sales. Expect the 2.3 L tune to be right in between the base V6 and 2.7 L Ecoboost for power.

Very well put. However, I'm very certain that we'd see a COBB tune or something similar to pull the rest of the power out of the 2.3 ecoboost. It may void the warranty, but I'm sure somebody is going to do it.

A tuned 2.3 ecoboost in a single cab stick shift ranger would be awesome. I can only hope that is a possible combination.

It's not. Only two cab and box configurations are coming. Both are 10 speed automatics. Extended cab long box and crew cab short box.

There might of been but the press release confirmed only two cab configurations, one engine, and one transmission offering for 2019. That being said Ford could always add more in the future. I think, given most fleet users are fine with the F150 regular cab long box, Ford may choose not to go after that market except to market possibly the extended cab as an "upgrade".

I think they need a manual option, how is there is no auto option on a focus st, but no manual option on the ranger? I can’t even consider the ranger without that option, I gave my wife my OR auto because it was like driving the library. Boring af.

Some of us don’t medicate our add, that’s why we need manual trucks.

Dang, I was hoping for something sporty like a GMC Syclone or a single cab 4x4 since there is no single cab small truck anymore. I realize it is inconvenient for most and hardly anybody buys them, but I always liked the look and size.

I have hauled that weight in my truck and don't remember my shit feeling underpowered. I could pull smaller inclines in 6th doing 70mph.

I'll bet there will be one additional engine in the raptor version and that's it.

They sell 900,000 F-150s a year so they can afford to have 4-5 engine choices. Heck, they could have 25 engine choices and still sell more of each engine than most luxury car makers sell entire lines of vehicles.

The ranger will never sell those kinds of numbers so likely 1 base engine and then the 2.7l in the raptor version for considerably more money.

That doesn't make sense to me though. I can't remember which major publication it was, but one of them had a chance to see the test mules though not get into or play with them and mentioned both the 3.3 L modular and 2.7 L Ecoboost engine both being tested in the Ranger. Odds are if you can jam in a sizable I4 Diesel, you can fit a small V6. V8 or I5 problems I could see being more likely.
