Just an update...I have taken parts to the machinist and he is working on the first prototype spacer. He has said that the plastic he stocks is blue, just be aware. Once I get it, I'll get some pictures of it and get it installed to see how it works out! :fingerscrossed:

Not yet. I'm really hoping it's not super expensive, I'd like to keep it around the same cost. He's going to quote me a price packaged (spacer, with a correct size box). Then I'll have to supply the gasket, nuts, bolts, spacers, and shipping.

For nuts an bolt I always use tractor supply, they do hardware by the pound or ounce, so metric, standard, grade 8...all the same price

Are you talking about Tooter's version? I seem to recall his was aluminum with his name machined on the side.

Aluminum isnt a good choice when compared to high density palstic. It costs more to machine, weighs more, costs more for raw materials, and transfers more engine heat to incoming air.

Whatever works. I've used thermoplastic gasket before to separate the aluminum intake from an aluminum head before and I couldn't believe how the intake no longer heated up and was cool to the touch after driving.
