Definitely among the least friendly forums I've experienced, for those that posted helpful links and advice I thank you. For those scorning me for a lack of prior knowledge... :lalala:

    Too few to list.
SR Utility is the cheapest you can get. I think you should have taken the time to check out the various models like the SR5 for all the convenience features you are now missing.

You can have an aftermarket Viper alarm added for less than $200 and that will solve your keyless entry.

Cruise control can be added fairly easily as well.

Above the dash is a panel that can be removed pretty easily as the dash are mainly clips holding it. Pull on the middle main bezel, pull the panel to the right side of the glove box towards the door and it will expose one philips screw holding that upper cover. From what I remember, there's really nothing under there to be rattling.

Since you're under warranty, have Toyota check the brakes, steering, and rattling issues.

Don't know if you have the 4cyl or V6 but I believe there's a TSB fix for the shifting issue but only for the V6. You can also have them check your trans fluid. Could be low.

Also welcome to the site. Ignore the negativity from others. 3rd Gen owners can get a bit touchy at times.

We are actually a very welcoming bunch but occasionally we have people coming here... Who previously owned a full size truck, buys a base model mid size, half of their complaints are obvious things that should have been filtered in the first 5 minutes of driving a car, then blames someone else for their obvious mistakes. Did I miss something?

Then get rid of it and buy a Ridgeline.

Mine has cruise control and keyless entry.
For the other items in your list, there is a transmission update, a drive line vibration fix and a thread here discussing how to fix the noise from near glove box area (passenger side tweeter).
Tacoma is a small sized truck, not a mid-sized or full sized truck like F-150's and 250's.

Well, honestly, what did you expect people to say? You purposefully bought the model with the least features, then you complain about it not having the features of the more expensive model. That's a line of thinking that is foreign to most.

I have the same Tacoma you have described owning. I have less than 1000 miles on it at this point. I too was suprised it had no cruise control but I knew that when I bought it. Plan to add it sometime this spring in some way(gotta have cruise.) I don’t think the truck is very comfortable. I have to move the seat all the way back manually before getting in and then move the seat forward again once in trying to estimate where it was the last time I drove it. It’s a four cylinder but that’s OK for my planned use. This truck is a tool to me. I plow snow with it and generally plan to use it as a truck. I don’t go four wheeling or rock crawling but will take it fishing and maybe camping. My last truck was a 2016 Ram 1500 quad cab Express with a Hemi and 4x4. Fast. I had it well equipped and it rode like a dream with rear coil springs. I loved tha truck, until it started to stall while driving at 60mph. The trucks message screen would read”shift transmission to park and turn key to restart.” I was reluctant to try that at 60mph. This ruined the truck for me and I felt compelled to replace it. The same dealer group that sold me the Ram also sold Toyotas and there were no Chevy’s in my area for a good price and immediate availability, so I went with Toyota(I won’t buy a Ford.) I don’t find the Taco especially good looking and I’ve already said uncomfortable but as long as it works, it’s the best compromise I could come up with. If I had my drothers I’d have replaced the Ram with a Wrangler but their prices are obscene now. That’s my take.

If you were getting the SR Utility you would have been wise to get the Manual Transmission.

It would have treated you nicely for 300,000 miles.
