Well if plan B is the answer, do you or anyone else know what size tires I can fit with those shocks?

IDK a 3.0 is pretty sweet. All that armor up front will just float.

You are all itching to head out. King of the Hammers is right around the corner in Johnson Valley. I plan on being there from Feb 5 to Feb 10.

My truck is damn near ready. Just need brakes.

Damn. That sucks. I have too much PTO this year so I decided to take that whole week off instead of just Thursday-Friday. I never been to backboor challenge and always wanted to.

Have fun man. I'm taking a week to run the rubicon over summer and then have a few weddings and other shit taking up the rest of mine.

I have never been to the Rubicon. Would it be difficult, logistically, to trailer my truck to do that trail? I figure I would have to do the trail twice to get back to the tow rig.

I've never done it, but one of my buddies has done it a few times. If you go one way, it is theoretically about 80 miles by pavement back to the start. Or you can turn around and run it backwards. He said they did that one trip instead of driving around. No spotters and zero fucks he said it took them about 4 hours to get back through lol. But he was in a sas'd caged 4Runner on 39's

My problem is that I run my truck until it breaks in some way. There is no way I would be able to risk driving it there and expect to be able to drive it home. I am built right and not too concerned with the difficulty level of the trail, just that my truck is a toy with not much consideration given for damage.

Maybe I will check when that big Jeep jamboree thing is next year and try to take PTO the week before it to get on the trail before it gets chewed up. It is something I would like to spend several days doing and make a great trip out of it.

True. After this current rebuild, and after I install my duals, then I will try and focus on making everything under the hood run perfectly, just to be more reliable.

I always see you guys do these little weekend events, but I can never go. I literally build my truck around King of the Hammers and TDS, then 10 months on downtime for the truck. I hope to break that cycle this year and be able to catch some of these trips this year.

Holcomb is always fun. I would like to go back to John Bull. I have not been there since I had the old fj40 land cruiser about 4 years ago.

I just looked up Odessa. It looks tough. Something worth trying.

I would like a winch eventually. Probably when I get a dual battery setup.

Everything else should be good to go; ARB's, 35's, RCV's, crawl-box. A winch is somewhere on the to-do list.

They were free. Maybe 37's the next time around. I wanna say RCV only warranties their axles up to 39's. Plus, my gearing can only take the 22re so far.

That is rather weak. ARB's are fucking strong. Is that warranty due to r&p failure?

ARB and RCV together on sfa is one hell of a combo. It took me about 2 hours, but I made it out a very shitty situation in reverse and only front wheel drive without anything else failing after I busted my rear driveshaft at the hammers last year. It was money well spent after going through that ordeal.

I am the same way. I can't have nice things. But I actually think I did enough maintenance this time around to make things last.

I was on much more of a time crunch last time around and did not have time to go over some small details.

That is where I am currently at. Cleaning up my electrical and maybe ripping off my brother's setup is gonna be a big priority. All part of a dual battery setup.
