"Larsen, a Roseburg resident, told The Oregonian/OregonLive by phone Friday that he wasn’t using his cellphone while driving his Bayliner and referred to such allegations as “fake news.” Larsen also said a lawsuit seemed unnecessary because the people in the Weldcraft weren’t hurt badly."

Is this the new thing now; play the "Fake News" card? Good grief.

Hell, I'd have doubled the lawsuit just based on his comment.

We have a special breed of asshole around here, with a ratio that keeps climbing. I've had to hospitalize a couple over the years in self defense, usually a combination of a day of drinking and an entitlement attitude. You knock them back and they just keep at it until you damage them. Maybe they shouldn't have closed the state mental hospitals?

Ever see something like this when searching for a home? Is there enough room to get by that basketball post and into the garage? :notsure:

Thats a new one to me. I think we have finally settled on a house and are int he process of putting in an offer/coming to mutual terms with the builder. Thankfully, none of the horrendous things I have seen will be an issue here. My biggest battle will be with City Hall having the street light thats in the front yard either removed (not likely) or shielded so the inside of the house is not light up like day light...

My mother's house has a street light on the front of her house. One of the 1960's style ones from the picture below. When it first went in it was a nuisance but now she has realized how helpful it is to have. What type is in-front of the building lot?

No worries about getting a vehicle in there; they probably have people living in it. I'm sure their HOA will step in any minute and require them to leave the big door open all day.

They are all a nuisance. Ive not only read studies on them, Ive done the studies and research. There is no-zero-none proof that light prevents/decreases crime or traffic issues. If I had my way, they'd all be ripped out. Light only creates shadows to hide in and ambient light to work by (criminally).

I'm lucky in that we don't have street lights (and no sidewalks, believe it or not) in our neighborhood even though we are in the Sacramento burbs, not the country. It is nice not having those bright lights.

We were in Hilo last year and it was a similar situation, plus none of the houses had their porch lights on. We drove through neighborhoods and out of the hundreds/thousands of houses we only saw 3 or 4 with porch lights on at night. It was weird. I found out the reasons were 1) lower light polution for the observatory, and 2) electricity is so damn expensive.
