I'm bored at work and it's snowing out so here comes some actual updates and pictures.

    Bak Revolver X2
Install wasn't too bad but, definitely helpful having a 2nd set of hands to get the cover into place on the rails.

    IMG_20170405_162643560.jpg
Painted the mounting hardware black to make them less noticeable
    IMG_20170409_215632035.jpg IMG_20170410_183102294_HDR.jpg

As you can see below the front gasket was a bit thick causing the front edge to bow upwards. This eventually settled down.
    IMG_20170421_174103950.jpg IMG_20170927_165113165.jpg
The one issue that I have with the cover is that the rails don't want to sit horizontally once it's installed. The rails are angled down after tightening everything; could be the weight of the cover itself. I also notice that it tends to allow for leaks to get under the rail and leak down the sides of the bed. I have ideas for how to fix this but those will get done when I reinstall the cover.

Edit: After the summer with the cover on I noticed that these silver streaks appeared on the vinyl which I'm assuming came from the metal slats of the cover. Not really sure of the exact reasoning for how this happened but it did. Thankfully Bak has a 3 year warranty on the cover so they fully replaced it for me. That cover is sitting in my living room waiting until it's warmer weather to redo the install. Also planning on adding some pieces that I hope will improve the fit and function of the cover.

These are small plastic covers that I designed, printed & sell (see signature) to help keep debris and moisture out of the bed side cubbies. I won't go into all of the details of the process since it's documented a lot better on the dedicated Cubby Cover thread. They work on 2nd & 3rd gens, Mobtown & OEM doors

Bonus if you can determine the fan cover logos, it's really not hard

Yeah, sometimes IG suggestions can get it right; plus my feed could use more Tacos in it.

    Grille Upgrade Pt 1
    Painting the shaver grille

I decided to go with bed liner in hopes that it would be a bit more robust than plasti-dip or standard spray paint. (Spoiler, it's not that much better) Simple process that many have done: remove grille, scuff the plastic, paint it, watch it dry.

    IMG_20170531_223531025.jpg IMG_20170601_201923190.jpg IMG_20170602_063521396.jpg IMG_20170604_002646534.jpg IMG_20170604_105908834.jpg

Edit: After a winter wash using a touchless wash I noticed that some of the bed liner chipped off. So I'll have to touch-up some spots or redo it when it's warmer

    Grille Upgrade pt 2
    TRD Emblem

This project has been my favorite so far just because I know it's 1 of 1 in the Tacoma world. Wasn't a fan of the Toyota logo on the grille, engineer by trade/tinkerer by hobby & have a 3d printer; so I went work on fixing the issue. Going back through my pictures I definitely didn't take enough for this project but :notsure: The emblem is 2 pieces epoxied together to make things easier for printing and to allow for hidden fasteners. The main piece is what you can see from the front showing the lettering, mesh, and outer ring. The back piece is a ring the has one side of it angled in order to match up with the contours of the stock grille. Sandwiched between the 2 printed pieces are 4 square nuts to allow it to be mounted to the grille; trying to recreate the stock clips via printing wouldn't make them strong enough so I secured it with screws instead. Then began the never ending process of epoxy, sanding, priming, sanding, painting, sanding, painting, wet sanding, painting, wet sanding, clear. The end result was definitely worth it but the process :frusty::frusty::frusty:

    Sunday River Hitch Cover
This project came about as a penny pinching one; was going to buy one from the resort shop for 50% off making it $12.99. I said fuck that, I can make one for less. Went onto Thingiverse, which is a site for finding pre-made 3D files, found a hitch cover then went and added the logo it. I didn't really try too hard on the paint job since it's just a hitch cover but, it's been holding up great through the winter so far. In the end it cost me ~$2 #winning
