Almonds. Same as peanuts with a lot of fat, but it’s a healthy fat as opposed to the fat you get in shit like chips.

Almonds, pop tarts, granola, apple, pb&j are pretty much my go-to snacks.

First... lets clear the air on fat. The only bad fat is industrial trans fat. All other fat is good and your body requires a MINIMUM about of it to function normally. So do not fear fats.

    Snacks I go for:
    Nuts
    Hummus and veggies
    Cottage Cheese
    Cheese
    Bananas
    Apples
    Oranges
    Salads
    Hardboiled eggs

You can also cut chicken in strips and grill it for grab n go chicken strips.

When cutting I eat way cleaner than I am right now. I have to eat nearly 5000 calories a day to gain and that's hard to do when eating clean. My go-to high calorie bulking foods are pop tarts, ground beef, eggs, peanut butter, and whole milk.

I don't understand how folks feed their kids that crap, especially people who lift and eat right. My wife's sister goes to the gym and eats clean and turns around and feeds her kid pizza rolls and shit like that for every meal. Lucky for him he plays football, baseball, and basketball, so he's lean, but if he ever gave sports up he'd be yuge.

Here's my diet (it may or many not help you):

    4600 calories, 260 g protein, 440 g carbs, 205 g fat, 35 g fiber

    4 eggs w/ shredded cheese
    banana
    poptarts
    fudge round :D
    greek yogurt
    2 cheese sticks

    grilled chicken and brown rice
    goldfish
    v8

75/25 ground beef, whole wheat pasta, parmesan cheese
    almonds
    strawberry banana v8

    2 scoops protein
    whole milk
    peanut butter
    fiber bar

    pot roast w/ gravy
    cheerios w/ whole milk
    chocolate milk
    v8

My cutting diet would be the same number of meals, but with subbed in with skim milk, ground turkey, and minus the crap like pop tarts and goldfish. Be sure to focus on your vitamins and minerals, too. I hate vegetables, so v8 is a staple in my diet...I know it's not as good as real veggies, but it's better than nothing. Just about all your micronutrients needs can be met with a few servings of green vegetables and a couple fruits.

My Fitness Pal shows all this to you. You just build your diet and look at what's lacking and adjust accordingly.

Might try to add in some granola and almonds.

Basically eat everything you suggested every day other than hummus, cottage cheese, and eggs. I hate eggs... The peanut fat being bad I just heard from my mom she always said it wasn't good fat and there was better things I could eat. Just grabbed a can out of the cabinet and they have sat/poly/mono fats, but 0 trans fats, so peanuts are actually pretty solid? If not I'll replace with almonds.

Greek yogurt is something I kinda wondered about. Whenever my mom comes to visit she threatens to throw away my protein and tells me to eat greek yogurt instead. Every time I go to the store and consider buying some there are so many different kinds and options I just give up lol. Might try to throw in a v8 as well, something I sorta thought was more of a gimmick from all the commercials.

I don't think v8 is as good as a salad, but it claims to have plenty of vitamins and potassium and all my blood work and my bp is okay, so I'm assuming it's not too bad.

Greek yogurt is great. I get the Chobani Flips...they have different flavors. My favorite is Smores...they have bits of graham crackers and chocolate that sprinkle in ...I would still take your protein poweder, though, as long as it's a reputable brand

Guess I'll stick with salad... I'll look for that next time, she mixes like oatmeal and 14 different fruits into hers I'm not on that level yet.

I use myprotein, tastes 10x better than ON which I bought in the beginning because apparently that's what everybody buys... If there is something better I'd be down to try it, I also take fish oil every day, preworkout some days, BCAA's during which I've read isn't really hepful, creatine with my protein because give me a powder that promises gains and I'll probably drink it...

Anything I should stop taking or start taking?

Natural transfats found in meat are VERY healthy. Industrial transfats made in a lab are unhealthy and the FDA ban on them became effective just now in 2018 so hopefully any new foods you buy don’t contain them lol.

Popular foods containing transfats were: margerine, cool whip, and processed foods like cookies, cakes, candy etc.

Peanuts don’t contain them. Only meats are natural foods that contain them.

Got a question about counting macros if anyone can help out.
Do you keep your macros the same everyday? Or on "rest" days, do you adjust and take less?

Good to know, I was always surprised by the amount of actual toxic things that somehow are allowed here vs other countries... Thanks for all the help!

I take BCAAs on lifting days. Research supports it aids recovery... not so much the claims it gives you superpowers (or added energy in the gym).

I have plain I mix with Emergen-C orange (I can’t consume other flavor packets because of allergies. I’m not a vitamin c nut).

Mostly it keeps me hydrated and gives me something to do between sets at tge very least lol

As far as supplements go I will swear by double doses of Fish Oil and Flaxseed Oil. Helps tremendously with soreness and joint stiffness. Those are the only things I use and actually notice a difference.

Creatine needs to be used properly and cycled to be effetive.

    Pop tarts contain polyethylene glycol.

Banned in most other countries haha

These are strawberry and not too bad, they also have a label on the box that says "now with twice the icing" or something along those lines so I'm sure the sugar in there isn't bad at all...
