Front diff breather wont stop leaking

Oil is proper viscosity,proper level,and oil keeps coming up front breather hose even if I don`t drive it for couple days.Nobody including dealership knows why this is.I emptied the diff filled it up to proper level I even blew down breather to see if air flow was restricted and next morning oil on the ground from breather.

if your front vent is puking, you've overfilled the diff.

i'm not sure exactly how much you're supposed to use. ...but i know if you fill it to the point where it's coming out of the fill hole, you've used too much.

you'll find that most dealerships will also overfill it as well. .....seems everyone thinks you're supposed to fill it until it starts coming out of the fill hole ...and that's not how it works for all applications.

 

This might be a normal occurance, atleast it was for the 1st gens and the old 96 I used to own. Mine did the same thing and I never over-fill my stuff.

I did research it (this was years ago) and from what I've seen, the overall design of the diff doesn't breathe (air pockets) and causes the oil to go up the breather tube.

I ended up putting an extended breather on the front - a hose that went up as far as the clutch master cylinder. That way...I'd never lose any oil.
When it leaks like that...eventually, you're gonna be low on oil.

Do some research on google or other forums.

 

Yeah I`m gonna extend line to as high as clutch and put fuel filter on it.Another guy here did this and says it works.
He says oil goes in filter about 1/4 inch and eventually drains back down.
I`ve changed all my diff oil the proper way and all the sudden it starts doin this.
385,000kms still goin though and only went through four CV`s

 

Hmm, wierd. Mine has never done this.
