C'mon man!!! Charleston Water System puts out some of the best tap water in the nation. Bottle water has no
good value to it whatsoever.

 

Seriously CWS tests hourly on the quality of drinking water. They are a customer of mine. All the local
water municipalities buy from Charleston Water System. Their testing labs are pretty impressive. I only
drink bottled water if I'm in Mexico.

 

I would love ppl to come sample what we are dealing with. Even the restaurants are having fits now bc their tea and water based drinks (probably anything with ice) are now affected too

 

Made homemade chicken and dumplings. I think another nap is in order.

 

What about the distribution system?

I guess now we wait. Between the massive phone calls and the media contacts...........we wait. In the meantime, I hope there is no mad rush on water here...

 

Should be tested weekly at different sites in the system. We have about 70 sites and each specific site gets tested about every 2 months.

I wish you worked here. Everyone is tired of hearing the same old crap anytime the water gets weird. I mean, even if they say........yes it IS weird and you are not crazy, it would be better than what they do now......

And then no explanation to show why it is weird. One dude implied it was the house having copper pipes. Since most of these homes have been redone with non copper, he almost choked on his words. SO IDK.

 

What do you do? Are you in distribution?

Yeah maybe if you lived on King St. downtown but not in a newer neighborhood. Even then as long as there is usage the pipes shouldn't be an issue.

Most of time when someone calls in for a complaint they talk to someone in the office who has no idea how the water even gets to the house most of time. We have to correct our office staff and tell them to just make a work order and we will check it out before they tell the customer wrong info and it turns out to be just a minor issue.

I work in for my local water authority in Lugoff. Work on distribution maintenance, but since our system is smaller we work closely with our treatment plant.

Any water near the coast is the most difficult to treat. Salt water can ruin many things.
Most times water near the coast will smell or taste like sulfur.

 

Good stuff! In my previous life, I became certified for water treatment 1 and distribution 2 out in CA. But that was a long time ago...
