In my experience, street lights are used by the criminals I've encountered to either see inside vehicles or basically see what the are doing in the dark. A flashlight would have been more suspicious.

They came through and put LED street lights on our street. 100% fixed the issue of lighting up our house. The light is focused straight down on the street. It was a nice compromise.

This one is LED and downward but the swath of light is still quite wide, and hits the front room and all of the side of the house. The technical term is Light Trespass.

I have a street light on the property in front of my house. At night I pull the curtains for privacy and that blocks the light too. From time to time it burns out. When it's out I really don't notice the difference, and when the city fixes it again it barely registers there has been a change.

They put in LED all over town. They are fucking terrible.

They throw BRIGHT light right at their base which screws up your night vision, and looks like there is another car coming at all times.

I have photophobia, so its 10x worse. Feels like daggers in my retina

Dark Sky is a big thing especially in this area, since it’s one of the few places left you can see the Milky Way just by stepping outside. The stars are amazing. I’ve always been fascinated with astronomy but even more so now.

This was last week, 9pm-ish standing in the driveway.

I truly miss living in the middle of nowhere. Used to live here in the late 70's early eighties.

I had my identity stolen several years ago. I did some serious detective work and found the guy. Took a nice cross country drive and explained to him that there is only one of me. He had a few less teeth in his mouth and no use of his legs when I walked away.
