Is it that much of a leak that you can't go wheeling?

Edit. I haven't been following your leak issue. Not sure what is leaking and to what extent.

Yes and no. I just need a little help getting through some stuff in 2wd. The trail I went on this weekend challenged my truck and I think a locker would help. So actually off road I would use it every couple months and maybe more once everything starts to warm up again.

I say save and wait for the ARB. Having the ability to choose locked or unlocked would be great. A locked diff isn't always better in soft stuff, as the ass end of the truck can start to slowly creep to the side. If you pursue the e locker axle route, make sure that's a second gen axle. I think the first gens came with 3.90 gears? I'm not sure. Obviously NOT #6. Don't be ridiculous.
It's enough to where I would be paranoid the whole time about starving my diff of oil. I'd rather just sit this one out rather than risk grenading my front diff causing an expensive repair because I wasn't patient.

Had to put that in there so I sounded kind of responsible.

I like the idea of being able to choose but don't like that price tag...maybe I can combine 3 and 4 and save for the locker but still do a few mods to the truck.

The price tag is KILLER. If that is the route you go, you can get the mid level compressor and have a nice on board air set up for airing up after a trip, so that's nice as well.

So our less than 1 inch of snow has turned into 5. Marinating steaks to grill out and chill with some bourbon. Hate having a day off in the middle of the week tho.

Another good point. On board air is something I want in the future anyways.

I only have Makers Mark and some Wild Turkey on hand now. More of a social drinker so I have a limited supply at home and nothing of any significant value.

My family has a history with makers, my great great grandfather was the master distiller there. I do love both of those though, have you tried Woodfords reserve?

@fatfurious2 @ADV4R @bski22 I said fuck it and ordered another seal that will get here tomorrow, so I will install that Friday, and then we can hope for a non leaky diff. If all goes well, I'll be back in business.

Will probably be going in late tomorrow due to icing (Apparently they dont want company vehicles in jeopardy) so its gonna seem like a Monday all over again by the time its said and done. Short week tho I guess is the silver lining.

I have had it before. Love the smoothness of it. I can buy a fifth and it will last me well over a year, that is how much of an occasional drinker that I am.

i would save for an arb. or just save money and not mod. MTs do help offroading but at the cost of some road noise.

I like my days off in the week. Means I can go to the doctor, or go to the mall, without a million people or have to take time off to see a doctor (not that I have done this in some years)

You'll want a selectable locker for your DD (especially if the gf rides with you). I say ARB, on board air would be a plus. If you could find a Toyota elocker rear, it wouldn't be bad. But, i just read a post where a guy for one off CL and it was bent bad enough that his truck wouldn't drive right.

I'm thinking the better option is to save for an ARB. I'll buy some camping things I've been wanting and maybe an awning and save the rest for tax time and probably only use a little bit of that.

its really nice to lock anytime you want, i rarely bump into 4wd before i lock

get the dual compressor as well, it fills tires like none other and runs my 3/8 air impact
