Thanx dude! Funny but trust me I got my hands full and time is hard to find.

Yea for sure. They’re an amazing tire and size!

I put together a video testing out snow chains on the 34s

Thanx. No issues so far. I’ve stood on it to reach the RTT cover and kneeled on it to get into the bed. I’m being extra cautious to protect the powder coat cuz it looks that good but sooner or later the first scratch will come and it’ll be all down hill not caring.

    Thanx

Ran 220V in the garage today for the new welder

Been 10 years besides messing around at buddy’s houses laying some beads. Gonna spend a few days messing around, than have some projects in mind. Obligatory weld pics..

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

    Nice!

I just added the relentless plate to mine and can say the improved strength is immediately noticeable. Should have done it a long time ago. Although now you make me feel stupid for not DIYing it.
While I was in there I made a few "improvements" to the tailgate.
-Added sound deadening in small patches to the outside skin and back of the new reinforcement plate.
-Installed foam insulation tape on all metal to metal contact points.
-Took out the plastic screw hole thingamajiggers and installed 1/4-20 rivnuts with corresponding SS hardware (spray painted black to match). I'd highly recommend this to anyone adding a plate to their tailgate.

I did reinstall the plastic cover although I may remove it later on.

Just don’t ask me how much my tailgate weighs now.

The after work look great. Im keeping the plastic top cap as well. I've been asked the thickness of aluminum I used and if I think its strong enough. Its 1/8" and strong enough to stand on. I don't consider it a reinforcement as much as I consider it a table top tailgate skin. I just wanted a smooth surface for table space at camp. I really can't imagine this mod being done with steel.. I won't ask what your tailgate weighs :p

I have 285/75/17s now and love the tire size. Don't get me wrong I love the 255s also and would never go 35s. It basically came down to a deal that fell on my lap for the exact tires and size I wanted (285/75/17 St Maxx). Knowing the size was taller but not much wider than the 255s and with more side wall.. I jumped on the new tire size. And no regrets, they fill out the truck amazingly.

Nice rig! Been following your build for awhile. I'm currently running 255/80/17 ST Maxx and have been flirting of the idea of going 285/75/17.

How much did you trim? Less than 2"? Also did you do CMC and pinch welds? Do you suggest a regear?

Not sure which your referring too.. I had custom cross bars for a roof basket I made. Made them to mount the Thule ski clamps. Designed the basket itself to act like cross bars, you can see the surf pads on the front and rear tube of the basket. I mounted the kayaks to the basket itself..

So much love for baby Luna yesterday at the baby shower, with so much love comes so many gifts. I had a quick taste of what it’ll be like camping with kids, needed 2 trucks and a car to get the gifts home, wife approves camp trailer build. But of all the gifts one was particularly my favorite..
