Thanks for the advice and I can see when it starts to install where its putting it. But dam* if I can find it. I'll have to set up an easier path to a folder I can access.

Also use the video dylon posted and ovtune provides on page 1. I used both in conjunction and it it really helped.

I would. I don’t drive my truck much and I dont drive it like I stole it when i do, but the most noticeable thing to me was the ability to hold a gear when going over a sight incline (and I have 33s). It’s of course gonna downshift when u start up a Hill, but it’s not constantly hunting for gears like it did with the stock tune when u drive over a slight hill.

So if your thinking of buying this tune for your new 2018, DON'T. It will not work on the '18. Before I purhased the tune Matt at OV said it would work and there would be no changes between the 17 and 18 trucks. Well there is and now I sit waiting for a solution. When I first contacted him he assured me that the tune would be ready in a couple of days. Didn' happen. When I contacted him asecond time last week I was told he would have the tune ready by Friday and no later than Saturday morning. Well that didn't happen either. Now my emails are falling on deaf ears. Hementioned that he is extremely busy. All I wanted was a date when he could have the tune completed. How manyof us would pay out $800 dollars to a company for a product that they haveno idea when or if it will come with little customer contact? Contemplating getting PayPal involved and disputing the transaction

He isn't in the country this week, see his previous posts.

I highly doubt Toyota changed the ECU in the '18's.

Mat's been a solid guy all the way thru this. With that & all the positive feedback on the tune, that made my choice to buy easy. Sorry it's not helping your 18, if it can be done, Mat will do it.

The more I read this thread, the more its obvious people don't understand software development. You don't just punch in some numbers and everything works. If it was that easy, there would have been tuning options far before this. It takes time to develop and refine a new platform. Toyota is constantly making changing, its a back and forth game and the first thing you try isn't always going to work. Sometimes it takes a try or two or 20, which also takes time. Things happen, things change, you can make all the estimates you want but that doesn't mean they aren't going to change. Matt could post an update every day that he's working on XYZ and people would go "WHY ARENT YOU WORKING ON MINE???" :annoyed:

For everyone that wants a timeline, just be patient. Yes we all paid money for this and everyone is in various stages, thats part of being an early adopter.

Has anyone else screwing around with Techstream reset TCU learning (not ECU)? I think learned values may have been set in the base map initially and resetting them and forcing them to learn on their own has definitely changed how it shifts...not sure if for the better. Initially after learning the shifts were HARSH. Slamming into gear, then they softened up and now if feels like they slip more than they did before the learning. Wondering if I should flash back the stock TCU map to force the previous learning values.

2 things, why would Toyota change the ECU and not fix it? Such a disappointment.
The other thing, there have been quite a few posts about learning and reflashing. Can you just do the disconnect the battery terminal thing and keep the same map but have the learning start all over, I still haven't flashed mine for the first time so I am asking not telling? I know this isn't a long term solution but I know learning has been on Matt's list all along.

Ah yes they did. I sent Matt the read of my ECU and he confirm it's different.
