Because it isn't. They'll cover their interest loss in the price of the vehicle. Better for them anyway, as they get it all up front.

It's a fun game, but you aren't there to make friends. At least i'm not. When the last dealer won't meet your number it's probably too low.

OP - is that $904 fee on top of the delivery fee and finance processing fee?

In the old days I remember that there used to be spmething like a manager fee, which was total BS.

Also, you can negotiate a price that forces them to include tag, title, tax and fees. For example: truck is $38,000 sticker price, you want it closer to $30K, and they won't go lower than $35k. Then your next move should be to have them throw in tag, title, tax and distributer fee into that $35k. They can do that...and if they can't just walk away (or run out the door).

There are some, but so far the price difference made going with the 2018 a better choice. But I won't discount a 17.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Because you have better negotiating power when you don’t have to let the dealer do the finance work. What is the interest rate after the 48 months if you go beyond that? I got 0.9% from my bank for 36 months, $27k on trade for my 13 Tacoma that I owed $12k on, and $33.5 out the door on my 16 TRD OR that stickered for $36,990. I won that day. New truck will be paid for in July 2018 (less than 24 months). Payments were $547, been paying $700.

Yes, it is. Delivery is another $970. I will go somewhere else before I pay that. The last 2 vehicles I bought were from New Hamphire and Maryland.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Not sure. 48 months fits my budget well. However, I could pay cash or finance through USAA. You did win that day. I would like to get a similar deal.

    Thanks,
    Mike

So after the cash deal is negotiated in writing, then talk trade in and financing or not at all?

    Thanks,
    Mike

You can. They may not want to, but if they don't, then you know what they were trying to do right?

Sure. Still be cautious. If they balk you know you did well. If they agree, you're still too high.

When I say in writing, I mean an offer to you. Nothing you've signed.

Likely they'll still consider your trade. But it will be more like an Edmunds trade price than a retail price. You'll find selling private party to be more lucrative if you have a decent ride that there is a market for.

This is something to get you to go in and browse potential new cars. once you do everything and get to the finance office you have to pay a “finance fee” if you choose 0% first car before the taco I bought was like that and once in finance I got hit with a $850 “finance fee”

Thanks again. I have considered selling private party. My trade in is a 2014 6spd. Mazda 3 hatchback. Probably wouldn't have any problem selling in a market like Ft. Bragg, NC.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I just said yeah no thank you if you want my business either wait for me to go to my bank and get a check ( I was already pre approved but didn’t use my bank at first because of the 0% at the time) or take the fees away.... let’s just say it took an extra day to pick up the car
