My fee from the dealer was 80 bucks in so-cal. 900 seems awfully steep in NC.

I will negotiate the cash deal first before talking financing. Appreciate the advice.

In my experience USAA doesn't always offer you the best rates, and to get their advertised rates you have to jump through a bunch of hoops (auto pay, plus car buying service, etc.). There's nothing wrong with dealer financing; you simply will not get 0% anywhere else. Otherwise how will a lender make money?

Negotiate the best price, and after you've reached the lowest they will go, then inform them you will be accepting 0% for 48 months. They're not going to offer you a better price because you walk in with pre-approved financing.

Dealer “fees” are bullshit. Local dealer charged something similar, roughly 800 as a “dealer charge” that included etching the windows for theft protection or some gimmic to try and justify what is essentially an attempt at inflated profit.

Shopped around a found a dealer way more cooperative who didn’t charge such a thing. In the same state no less so it’s not a statewide thing, just varies dealer to dealer. Just need to find one that will play ball. There are plenty out there that will work with you, and on the flipside many that would rather burn a bridge than take off their extortion fees.

Be advised, tn sales tax is 10%, but for more than twice in tax, there's half the jerkoff shenanigans. I did my own financing (USAA) so I can't speak to any finance fees, but it's probably there.

I believe you pay tax for the state you register it in. I could be wrong though.

    Thanks,

Local credit unions are awesome too. I got 0% on my other car through a local credit union.

That's right. Some affidavit of something saying you'll take the vehicle out of state. The dealer could also use this to f*ck you into not getting as good a deal. They could also look at this as trying to take business from SE region.

I don't have those fees on my buyers
I don't know about negiotiating from invoice, but I paid $3783 less than MSRP. Purchased mine in mid October, and did not have those fees on my buyer's order. Good luck with your search!

Tell them to subtract the total of the two fees off of the sticker price. That way the fees are still on paper but your not actually paying them out of your pocket. This worked for me when I bought my Tacoma and they tried to hit me with dealer fees.

This is correct. I bought my truck in Mississkippi, but paid Louisiana Tax.

You don't need an affidavit, you have to register the vehicle to drive on public roads. Basically, when you go get tags, you're paying your taxes.

That is the kind of deal I would like. Got a search out with multiple dealers. Will see where it goes.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Find like 20-25 dealers. Someone will be wanting to sell a truck at a fair price. I drove almost 200 miles one way to buy, but we made a fun trip out of it.
