I loved on Polly just a bit more than usual last night and this morning. She thought she was in trouble lol!
Humans suck in general, that's probably why losing a loyal pet matters more.
Take time to grieve, but also think how excited your pooch would be to play with a new dog, too. Lady here at work lost hers over a year ago, didn't come to work for a week. Everyone here knew the dog and would stop by the office just to see her. A lot of people were very upset! However, she now can't bring herself to get another dog.
Is it fear that new dog won't be like Abby was? Maybe, they're all different though.
Is it the added responsibility? Good possibility as well.

My dad was a tough old timer. Never showed much emotion. The ONLY time I ever saw him cry was when his favorite dog passed away.

A big part of me would die inside if I lost Polly. She loves to go wheeling, most times, enjoys laying in mud holes no matter how mad dad gets at her, and she really loves seeing all the new people at meets and getting their meats.

20 minutes late today to work. Probably 2" of new snow and still falling. Snow, all day. All hours of daylight. Snow.
Paid liars claim 1-3" again just for today after this early morning's snow. Leaning toward the higher number always this winter.

You would think they would use science n shit to nail this down a bit better.

I've cried twice as an adult that I can recall. Once was when my Grandpa passed and the second was yesterday. I white girl cried in the vets office when she started the injection to put her down. This morning was hard. We have a very set routine (I'm a big routine person) and nothing feels "right". Not to mention there is 2" of fresh snow out which was her most favorite thing on earth. Time heals all wounds.

There's a bluegrass song and a chorus of it goes "Can't trust the weather man, makes his living off luck and chance". So true. When was it? Like '94 when we we're supposed to get a light dusting and got 2'?

    That sounds about right.
I had my birthday party at McDonald's with a Play Place downtown. Play Place has since gone and they made the restaurant fatter.
Same winter, my dad blew his knee from falling on it on our brick road. We had left the house on the way to school, and he realized he needed 4x4. Got out to lock the front of the 1995 Bronco and he disappeared in front of the hood after locking the passenger side.
This was before he sucked and I was actually worried about him. Got me to school, drove himself to work, called mom and she bitched him out til he went to the hospital.

I don't think it's cheating on her to pick up another dog. Plus if you do end up picking up another dog from the shelter, you're saving a life.

I don't look forward to outliving my dogs but I have decided that I will have some sort of memorial for them when the time comes. It may sound crazy but I'm definitely thinking about getting a gravestone with a tasteful picture engraved done.

She is headed to Lexington to be cremated. They are engraving a Urn for us and they are making a casting of her paw print as a keepsake. I would bury her here but I don't think we will live here forever and I'd like to have a memory of her in the house. It was $185 for cremation, an engraved metal urn, paw print and lock of her hair in a keepsake box.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
    Anyone wanna buy my sliders?
    They were 1100$ shipped
And then 400$ for linex cause (linex of lexington charges an ass ton
So I have 1500$ in them
No damage on them from all my mall crawling.
Just need money for my truck repairs badly, they are bolt on setup and can support being a jack point

Really need to get 1100$ out of them cause a new rear end and 3rd memeber and driveshaft is not cheap.

Sorry for your loss bro. I had a pit through college that was the best dog I've seen for me. Went everywhere with me, camping, hiking, Lowes, etc. My neighbor shot him for no reason while I rushed him to the vet to have him pass away while holding him. It's definitely hard to take because they become like a kid to you.
3 years later I still miss that dickhead but one thing you got to remember is there's plenty of dogs out there that need love and someone to take care of them. He/she got to spend years and years with you and your families love and they could've been like many of these animals out here that never get spoiled like that. It took me awhile to get another dog but I recently adopted another Pit from a shelter in Frankfort awhile back. He was a hyper mess when I got him but now he doesn't leave my side when I'm around. It's like he's continuously thanking me for rescuing him and giving him a warm bed. Just something to think about in the future. RIP to your family member.

Thanks man. The next one, when that day comes will be from a shelter again. I said it time and time again she was the best $25 I ever spent. Sorry for your loss as well man. It's rough to loose one.

    The freak out happened.
Over half the people in the building just made a mass exodus to head home.
