how long does the fly dressing usually last on the fly? Or how often do you re-apply?

Depends on things like stream gradient, materials used and so on. A foam fly will float forever but a delicate mayfly pattern might need dried and dressed often. Also about any time u catch a fish :)

. Still not sure what you are asking.
Maybe false casting to get the distance, or to dry the fly. Let it drift, then cast again. If stripping line in during the drift, you might have to false cast a few times to get back to target distance.

Maybe he was lifting to adjust the drift, or skittering a caddis across the surface.

Is it OK to post outfits for sale in this thread or do I need to go to the 'for sale other' thread?? I've got 4 set ups.

Have upgraded to a 5wt and 6wt and don't 'need' the others.

Will try to get pics and post up in the proper 'for sale' thread tomorrow.

    SORRY - EDITED!!!!!

Technically, you need to post it in the for sale "other" section.

Going the route you went will cause the rest of us to migrate over to that forum.

I don't think think the mods will go too "medieval" on you.
