    Ouch. Attachment points are very important. The kinetic part of it is kinda need for a snatch type recovery.

    Yeah, I need to pick up some new ones. I cut mine off when installing the snorkel. It was too long and hit the inner structure before getting one hole big enough. I keep forgetting about it until I need it.

    Outside. Welded the nut to the washer, enlarged the hole in the crossmember, put the nut into the hole, welded the washer to the bottom of the crossmember.

    I know the process but your last pic didn’t show much. Skid on yet? Could you take one from under the cross member looking up at it? Gracias

    Also did you measure the distance between the two mounting points on the skid to see how much wiggle room you had with the bolt. For some reason I’m thinking the welded nuts need to be close to right on.

    285/75R17 on methods, Icon RR front with UCA, dakars with fox 2.0's out back. CBI Dakar Hybrid with homemade 1/4" skids. 4.56's with ARB.
    @Chux @HolyHandGrenade is there any reason you guys don't want to just drill the hole out a bit and nut and bolt the skids to the crossmember? I built my skids and did them that way, all 7 mounting points are nut and bolt thru the crossmembers

    I think its easier to just bolt a skid directly on to the frame than doing a yoga move to hold a nut in place... Just my $.02 :oops:

    I didn’t do any measuring. I’m sure I didn’t get it exact. I’m planning to enlarge the holes on the skid to 1/2” to make up for however much it’s off.

    This, although I am quite proficient at yoga.

    The crossmember is also not flat directly above that threaded mounting hole. That’s where it begins curving up towards the frame.

    Use a step drill to drill the frame. Drill antad larger than the nut size across the points. Tack nut to washer on the flat. Shove nut inside frame. Weld washer. Done. I did drill the holes in the skid a bit larger to make clearance for the 3/8" bolt, but not by much. Lined up perfectly when I bolted the skids up

    On paper you should be able to use the old hole as your guide and have everything line up. Then make the hole in the skid bigger like errrone be sayin. I’m gonna have to do that anyway the back two holes on my skid are tiny
