The ideal situation would be to get a 1st gen tacoma or older 4runner a just wheel that and take everything off my truck and turn it into strictly a DD. I think it messes with trac control but I don't know 100%.

I second this. I would love me an older 4 runner or 1st gen, but man, not sure how much they cost down your way, but up here they are $$$ not that I have really looked into it, but I know they don't sell dirt cheap like I would want hahaha I also have no extra money for that kind of thing, I'm sure if I did the cost wouldn't bother me so much

Oh they are just as expensive down here. Those things are like gold. You can’t just go pay $3k cash for one and be off. They go for $6k-$9k in decent shape.

I’d have one too for that price. Only thing I can find is late 80s-early 90s beat up tacos.

When I was looking for a Tacoma I wanted a 1st gen. Being my DD and only vehicle (would get rid of my Civic and my Pre Tacoma pickup(rotten frame)) I wanted something pretty clean. Seeing the prices for a 10yo truck I said screw that, if I have to borrow to get one I might as well get something newer! The nicest one were like 10 to 13k! Got my 2nd gen for 17k lol no ragrets!
