I highly doubt 2 trucks out of 800,000 or 900,000 is trending of an ongoing issue.

Maybe this is an experiment by Ford in vehicle globalization, ie . Vehicles that are global platforms with some or subtle differences between continents or countries. It'll probably make vehicles cheaper for when the robots take all the jobs and we're all on universal income... Lol

Ford did almost nothing with the Ranger to make it “American” or different from the World one. Take a look at the Everest. There’s your new Bronco.

This is a MT dezul optioned Aussie Ranger that was here (PNW stateside) in late October. Blacked out windshield etc for photos/videos of it careening iconic US landscapes for the impending release.

No MT for us. So I’m out.

Overcoming Fords historical reliability issues is what the Ranger is mostly up against not Toyota Tacomas majority of people buy Toyota trucks for this reason alone. heres a good video pertaining to EcoBoost engines this is a real owner not a salesman trying to hustle the public. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDYdioB9IU4

On a different note, how long are people going to hold on to this “Toyota reliability, Ford needs to work on that”

Based on the consumer reports and this forum, Toyota doesn’t come without its fair share of issues either? I don’t see frames falling out from under fords? Lol

Only issue I have with the Ford 2.3l is the sound. I've driven a Focus RS with the fake sound generator turned off (piped through the car's speakers) and it sounds genuinely terrible. The torque is there though. I wonder if they will do artificial sound in the ranger.

my last 3 Toyota trucks clocked over 200k miles with mostly general maintainence, the one ford f150 I owned was in the garage getting fixed more than it was on the road and sucked gas up like crazy. even with these so called issues there is no doubt that Toyota truck reliability blows the doors off the competition, just look at the High mileage threads here where the majority of owners are getting 200k plus miles and more I certainly doubt Fords can do that on a regular basis.

I sure do hope they delete that stupid fuel rollover cutoff switch that malfunctions like clockwork when it's 40 below. That thing was a real money generator for every tow truck operator.

How many 200k 3rd gens? There are plenty of high mileage threads on the F150 forum as well. Hell some dude put 1 million miles on his ford van.

Not sure. Of this Ford reliability issue you guys bring up. Across my family and the business there are over 35 Ford trucks and SUVs. Everything from a f550 dumptruckand E150/250/350 gas and diesel ambulances to a Ford raptor and explorer. No issues across the fleet. My parents 03 expedition has been from Alaska to Germany and back in just about any weather you can put it in and has no issues.

1" lift from 3rd gen suspension, 265/75/16 ATs
1400 lbs, or 90% of advertised payload capacity.

    http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2016/08/24/

Not carrying its weight: "It has a real problem carrying heavy loads," Williams said. "Too much squat in the rear end and riding near bump stops when we only had half of our calculated payload in the bed. Brakes got mushy, too." "There's too much rear-end squat while carrying payload that points the nose toward the sky and makes driving at highway speeds sketchy as hell," Bruzek added. "Load up the Ridgeline's bed to nearly payload capacity and it is not happy," Bragman said. "The handling gets really unstable as the truck squats rearward, unloading the front tires."

Also the pic you posted looks like an uncontrollable wreck waiting to happen. Hope I live far away from where you drive.

Lol. These authors are threatened by the existence of a capable unibody truck. That commentary is all objective bs. They needed to knock it somewhere because it ran away from all the trucks when it came to the numbers.

If you actually read the objective data in the article, the ridgeline has the best loaded acceleration and quarter mile time of any truck so it's seems to get traction somewhere so not sure what that front tire crap is about.

It also has the shortest braking distance when loaded of any truck. So, again crap about the brake feel. Entirely subjective.

I couldn't see where they mentioned the weight in that pic. But I'll take your world. Even so, the camber in the pic is expected given the suspension set up. As long as it works and holds up overtime which the previous gen did, I'm ok with it.

Not me or my truck in that pic. I agree, unsafe but still taking it like a champ.
