Have you ever been to Thousand Oaks? It’s pretty underwhelming.

I’m not in. At all. While I understand the thought behind it, the last thing I want to do each month is tell anyone where to park. Or go up and tell the morons that will always rev their motors like they have just discovered internal combustion, to knock it off. My main activities at the event listed in order of importance, are:

    1. See cool Toyotas and talk to their owners
    2. Eat a taco, (Sunday was the first time I had ever done that, and they are very good)
    3. Take a stroll through the rest of the lot
The last activity takes about 10 minutes, and it’s a very small part of the event for me. My vote would be to continue do what we’ve been doing, which is show up early, stake out our spot with vehicles, and let the riff raff (non-Toyotas) wallow in the rest.

we would not be enforcing the rules so much as just trying to keep us all from getting booted, at least that is what I was thinking.
    observe and report.
    eat tacos
    and chill

    just an idea...

They are going to have to shut down the show before we get kicked out.

true, but, as you well know, it only takes one jackass to crash his mustang into a classic corvette to put a stop to a good time......

was just an idea, one that was kinda present at SA and has been a staple of other car shows I have attended.

Problem with #2 there - no money. If there was money, we'd be doing it already.

I'm personally of the mindset that this should be the sponsors' problem to fix and we simply kick back and spectate from a position of safety on the high ground.

Are you interested in doing work in Boerne? Bit of a drive for you... I want to do some built-ins (shelves and cupboards) the length of my living room (about 15' x 8')

I can agree with this and pretty much what Jeff said.

Im willing to lend a hand if needed when we get there early.

Like move a couple trash cans, pick up and organize things.

BUT, once the show starts and everybody gets there....I'd like to be chillin with the crew.

I think we shouldnt get too involved unless somebody approaches us needing help.

We have to keep in mind this was the very 1st event at a NEW place with NEW management.

I can almost bet that next month they will have WAY more personnel on hand and the day will be much more enjoyable for all.

Although, I enjoyed every minute. Had no real complaints at all, other than they should move the cherry picker out of the way.

The cherry picker was no worse than the Oasis' brewery construction materials infringing on our gravel lot space, and we got through that.

We own trucks. We overcome, we go over, or we go around.
