How many bring chainsaws other than Matt's Mobile Mechanic / Tree Removal Service?

Anyone else getting fantastic gas mileage during this warm-weather. 195 miles to this tank and it's below a quarter tank, smh.

Yeah I'm getting about the same, but it's due to the winter blend gas and warming the truck up in the morning before work.

I've been bringing an electric Ryobi. It's got enough juice to clear a trail in a pinch.

I left my truck at camp lol.

I also only get the saw out after I've already hit at least two trees, as nick can attest to

I keep a small Craftsman mechanic's 3/8 drive set I've had for years, a 1/2 set of sockets deep/shallow metric and standard with a ratchet, Channel Locks (2 pair), folding allen key set, crescent wrench, and jumper cables in the truck. Along with an electrical termination kit w/ my voltmeter, quart of gear oil, quart of motor oil, towels and rags, 4-way tire iron (worthless for 21mm lug nuts on my wheels), spray lubes, Slime in a can, and the factory jack.
That's all in the truck. Stored in the cubbies and milk crate behind me. Or the floor rolling about the place.

The 2 ammo boxes on the bed rails...one is recovery gear, 30' snatch strap, 3 shackles, and one hook. The other holds boxed, open, and ratcheting wrenches in metric sizes, a funnel for refueling, gloves, MoraKniv knife, gloves, lacing cord (waxed nylon string for those that don't work telecom :) ), a Sharpie or 2.

Mounted at the cab bed rail are my shovel and ax.

I need a Hi Lift now that I have sliders. Or at least a block of wood to put the factory jack on.

My home garage; I use the tools from the truck. But I have a HF 3 ton floor jack, HF 3 ton jack stands, Craftsman 4 ton stands. I normally use a 2" chunk or chunk of 4x4 on the floor jack depending on what part is going in the air. The stands go on 2" lumber or a concrete paver or cinder block, whatever is handy really. I adapt.

    _long winded, sorry

I used to carry a full set of metric tools, in a box designed just for` them, along with a cubic shit-ton of other stuff. I recently went through and removed "stuff I won't be using"....ie, sockets/wrenches/etc that are sizes that the Toyota just doesn't use. Got a Hi Lift, so removed OEM jack. No sense in buying gas to haul around shit I won't need. I carry a 30" strong arm and double compliment of impact sockets for wheels AND spacers. (along with extra studs and lug nuts) Major trips I'll toss the DeWalt 1/2" 18V impact in the box. Hi Lift and shovel already mounted in the bed. I have quick Fist mounts that will soon be attached to the tool box. They'll hold an axe and a mattock. Fire extinguisher IN box, and soon a bigger one outside the box. Anyone who's ever HAD to use a fire extinguisher....You'll know there is no such thing as TOO BIG or TOO MANY fire extinguisher(s). My recovery kit is actually 3 smaller bags. One for pulling, one for winching, and the last one for "extreme winching". Also have an Alice Pack (GO Army!) full of personal survival gear. A hatchet and a machete call the big box home too.

And, as you might imagine, there's a small bag containing cleaning stuff. I defy dirt to linger on my truck!

Shit even I have a 30' snatch strap and shackles in the cubbies, along with a big ass tool kit on the floor behind my seat. I used to carry a gallon of coolant in the VW, but I don't have anywhere convenient to stash some in the truck.

You should be able to fit a gallon coolant jug, almost, into the rear door pocket.

I'm looking for a better technique to organize my stuff on the trails, where to put things, what stuff to keep together, etc.
I'm sure most of you guys have thought about the same thing when you're trying to find stuff and have to go through 5 backs, bins, or cases to get to some of it.

What's some easy good spots that you all put your junk that's easily/better accessible.

Tools, Camping junk, camera equipment, food, etc.

What I need to do is unload everything and organize it together. I try to do it but then whenever I leave and am ready to go on the last day I throw junk everywhere to hurry up and load it.

I did this, Cody, after LBL last year and whatever the second yearly meet was I attended. Really made a difference and a lot less 'junk'.

One tote is a dedicated kitchen/dry food storage w/ utensils and stove and lights. My big white knock-off Hardigg is my tent, air mattress, tarps, and sleeping bag. One cooler for beverages. One cooler for cold food.
Duffel bag or pack for clothes, depending the season and length of our adventures. One pack always comes with, no matter what, that has emergent and survival type gear with a small IFAK.

Phone was always my camera mounted to the windshield. Now that I joined the action cam crowd, I bought a YI hard foam case for the YI camera that holds all it's accessories except the suction mount.
