There is also only one hole that will accept a bolt on the a pillar. The second hole wouls need a nut installed for it to be secure. My interior is cement grey. I have thought of using a paracord type handle folded to a loop using only the one bolt location. Just haven't found the right type of handle. @mesojdm has the closet thing to it I believe.

You sound awfully passionate about dildos. There are other topic-specific forums on the internet where you can freely explore your interests.

I wonder if the parts from a right-hand drive Hilux would work?

The driver side has the steering wheel. That's what you're supposed to be holding onto with both hands when you're saying "Oh, shit", hence no hands will be free to grab the additional handle rendering it useless. The passenger has no steering wheel (typically) and thus nothing to grab when yelling "Oh, shit!". Problem solved.

Also, there are likely a lot of gov't and independent compliance requires around stuff like this. It's probable that the requirements got updated and no longer allow having one on the driver's side. Some vehicles that still have them were probably grandfathered in. Are there any vehicles that came out after 2016 that have the grab handle on the driver side?

Can't find it when I want it but I am sure I read here in the last couple of days that the Driver's Pillar and Handle from Gen 2 was a direct replacement on Gen 3. (?) It was a thread about all the parts that were interchangeable.

I posted myself to say that Window Visors would NOT interchange.

As mentioned previously; What's wrong with just grabbing the steering wheel?

The Chevy Colorado does not have driver side pillar grab handles, but the new Jeep Wrangler JL and Ford F-150 does. I believe the 2019 Ford Ranger will have them as well.

I’m really hoping for a solution... grabbing the steering wheel while getting into and out of my truck is not ideal. A driver side pillar grab handle would be very nice to have.

It's at a bad angle and I don't want to ruin the steering column by consistently pulling on it from bad angles. I get in and out alot.

I guess everyone's mmv.... I have no issue as I feel its a more natural pulling angle, since technical im trying to get in diagonally towards the steering wheel into the seat and not up over it. Could be a matter of personal size too.

I also drove a 2nd gen for 10 years and used it, so I really do miss it since it was a natural motion for me. Had this one a year and still reach for the damn thing.
