curious what software you're using, my laser guy had the same issue but i have not been able to replicate it. Opens fine in solid works and draftsight. I even checked on multiple computers.

EDIT: single file attached, give that a try

I was using librecad (just switched back to linux and it was the first thing I could get working) finally got draftsight installed and the files load fine now. Still haven't done anything with them, but i'll probably print them out on the plotter to make some mock ups next week. Have you made any progress with yours? Would love to see the finished product.

Man, this is great. Thanks so much for sharing these files. Any chance you'll be doing the same for 5th gen 4runners? Or is there a thread already that I might be able to get a link to? Thanks!

I’m open to possibilities but I don’t have a 5th gen Runner. In fact, the only reason we have or will have DCLB and 3rd gen Tacoma plates is because some awesome forum members have taken the time to get involved and keep the process going. If there is a 5th gen Runner near me that wants to work on files, I’m open to it. Or, if anyone wants to work remotely with me through the process, that’s cool too.

Well, I just finished these, and was wondering about mounting options, so thanks for the files!20180118_103734.jpg

Those look good! If it looks like the files in this thread are close, let’s work on modifying them for the Runner! Either way, keep us all posted. You’re off to a great start.

Just got my plates cut at work and they'll be bent on Monday, then I can fit them up on the truck and start making the rest of the sliders. I'll post up some pictures when I can, but thank you for putting the work in! Made my life a lot easier as the only part I was worried about with the build was getting the mounting right.

Nothing wrong with slow, it's the incomplete ones that really bug you...

Looks great BTW. So I will assume that your changes in the file worked for the third gen.

Great to know. When I get my computer back I'll download the file. I have AutoCad. The file shouldn't be an issue.

Finally made some progress on these. Got them cut and formed at work, and fit them up today, everything looks good. Going to try to get the 2x2 legs and main section welded on this week. I already have the long 2x2s cut and 45ed at work, just need to cap the ends. My buddy will be cutting and bending the outside tubes for me, going to do the kickout style. Hopefully they'll really start coming together in the next few weeks here, but I'll probably be in the running for slowest build as well :)

    Slider overlap.jpg
So Im looking at the fit up on my sliders, and noticed at the end of the frame plate it overlaps this thing, which I've been told is over the weld in the frame, there sone of these on the top and bottom. It wont pull tight and flush being on top of this thing. What is the best solution that people have used? Should I cut a section out of the plate where it lands on this? Grind down the one on the bottom and just not go deep enough to mess with the weld? try to drill an extra, large hole right where it is for it to go through? Don't want to do anything too substantial to the frame in case I ever get tapped for that inspection recall thing (although my frame look to be in pretty good shape so I doubt it'd ever qualify, but still I'm paranoid about doing something that would make them reject it.)

the little triangle notch on the plates go around the stud so no modification should be needed, so make sure you have the right plates cut. if that's not the case though i would elect to notch the plate there and not mess with the frame at all.

I have a set of these I had to modify for my 2006 after I got my frame replaced.

There are three extra rivets in the frame on the bracket.

The triangle part goes around one of those studs earlier up the frame, but not this last one. I'll probably drill a hole in the bracket to fit it through.

As far as I know this one has never had the frame replaced so far, so that's a weird coincidence.
