    Also, idk why but today was just thinking how amazing tires are. I drove the last 4-5 miles to work on super wet ice. I almost fell and ate shit getting out of the truck today. It's amazing you can drive on shit like that.

    I think its more a factor or weight? right, like the contact surface area of your shoes vs your weight compared to the surface are of the tires vs the weight of the truck is much psi more for the truck, so it doesen't slide as easily. but woohoo tires

    im kind of upset how quick i was to just give up on that step, but i was just so frustrated i wanted to get a ton of work done and couldnt do anything that evening, because NOTHING in this town is open to buy tools or supplies past 6, and i dont get home till like 7 usually. but when i lived in any bigger city orilleys was open till 10, home depot and lowes till like 8 or 9...its just annoying these projects take so damn long if i try them during the week. But i just kept telling myself...30 for a shop to do it once or 80 for a vice, hardware, drill bit, and cup for the control arm and i do it myself and i have a new drill bit and vice that will last for years and be used over and over. just spend the money you idiot and thank yourself later

    Yeah getting off late sucks. Im in the same boat mostly. Luckily i can go to Laurel or Billings pretty easily if i really HAD too. Which honeslty is where i would have to go to get anything worth a damn and not marked up 20-30% for no reason.

    Im actually ok with what ace marks their stuff at here. Its seems pretty middle of the road for tools and what not. Like the last couple of times ive gone in there for tools stuff has been priced less for what i'm looking for than i thought. Not so for many other stores, but ace has been helpful.

    The ace here is pretty middle of the road too, mostly decent brands and prices. And if I'm really in a bind or something there's a HF down the road so I can go buy something and break it almost immediately.

    We have an Ace and a Napa. That's it though. The Ace is okay like you said. Billings though has all the big department stores so..if i can plan ahead i'd go there.

    lol ive never been to a HF.

    Some of that shit is worth it. Hell the press I used was a HF one. Did fine for a 300 buck press. engine crane too.

    It's fine for sockets and stuff with minimal moving parts. For some reason their hydraulics are actually pretty good so my engine hoist and tranny jack are holding up much longer than I ever expected they would. If I buy a tool there that I actually like or think I'll need again I go find a real brand of it, HF spoofs all their tools, just copies if old Mac, Matco and Snappy designs.

    agreed, nothing moving. but wrenches and sockets, jackstands...i used a 6" c clamp to press out the rubber bushing...it bent the c clamp arm. surprised THAT was the weak point, not the screw or little sliding pry handle where you screw it, but one of my 6" c clamps is now bent a bit ha

    You can get tons of LED amber covers too.

    Far as I'm concerned. HIDs blow LEDs out of the water. But there are cons.

    HIDs have to warm up. The bulbs don't last as long either and they draw more current.

    LEDs are annoying to understand the light output. An 80w LED light is not drawing 80w of power. Its just the power equivalent.

    That said, you also need to know what kind of light you want. LEDs are fantastic at coverage over a decent distance. HIDs are amazing at pure light output and very long range, but the near field can be less then desirable.

    Honestly, two of those on the bumper and if you have fog mounts, get some nice LED cubes and you'd be set for most stuff.

    The best lights I had were those damn hella 500s with 55w HIDs in them. Stupid bright and super long range.

    That’s what I figured. I want to get 2 amber lens led pods/spots to put in the grill, my illegal head lights are basicially flood lights as it is, the current led cubes get moved to the rear, and then HIDs for the spot lights.

    Guess I gotta go look at your build and see whats involved in the HID conversion. Seems easier to just buy lights that are just HID from the get go

    65 for a pair...hmm
    Free form or parabolic reflector?

    Nah just buy the lights you posted. Be cheaper then doing a retro fit.

    yep. I had ones that were 4300k and 6000k. could barely tell the difference from in the cab. But if you accidently blinded yourself by looking at them you could tell.

    How? And not as bright. 105 each light vs 65+88 for a pair of Hellas and hid kits
    The lights I posted are only 35w (tho the video claimed it puts out the light of 55w whatever that means)
