Regrettably you are the second person to have that issue that I know of. I've looked all over it and there are no identifying marks on it to identify the manufacturer. I have been told that Norco Camper was the supplier but I've never checked to confirm the accuracy of that. I would think that a cap retailer that dealt with tradesmen type caps, or aluminum caps would be able to help you source a new one. If you do find a source feel free to post here or in my Tacoma thread - click the Tacoma in the signature image - as I know that someone searching for one in the future will be grateful to know.

yes, I have done the mods
Damn, I'd love this. Combined with my sleeping platform in the bed, this could handle my whole family of 4. What a dream.

Did you modify your prinsu rack to fit? I've got a prinsu rack, too - what's the clearance over the rack like when the flippac is open? Love to see a pic or two of that.

You should get this Flippac. I've done a ton of research and asked the important questions above and the OP answered promptly with much detail and the correct answers for properly installed modifications. Of many of the Flippacs I have seen over the years, I have seen many holes drilled in wrong places, leaks, cracks and other things that will be HUGE headaches down the road. That is not the case with this one.

You may be able to sleep more. Their is a piece of fabric - same as tent material - that is stretched across before closing to keep the tent material from sagging down allowing you to still use the truck as a truck. When you deploy the main tent you simply move the left side to the right which creates a hammock that FRP claimed was rated at 160lbs. My son used it as his spot to camp by climbing onto the main bed and then onto the hammock.

When I would go bow hunting with my brother in law we would stow our bows there to keep them from being underfoot while inside the camper.

I did not modify the Prinsu, but by adding the L-track riser I found that I had room for it so I ordered one and put it on the truck. As for clearance, I’d say 1.5 from the side rails and 2.5” to 3” from the crossbars with the lid deployed.

Thanks for the kind words, I’ve seen allot of them for sale that have been destroyed by owners who didn’t maintain them properly, weren’t sympathetic to the mechanism, or made poor decisions when it came to modifications. Many of them sell for very little because of the basket case they are and the extra expenses the buyer has to take on to make them safe and functional again. I’m proud to say that this one is ready to go and I look forward to hearing about the adventures it’s new owner takes it on.

Besides being short bed it doesn’t work for me. You can’t carry anything on the roof above the cab while camping or even kayaks over the cap. And don’t wanna access the tent through the bed. The gear I carry in the bed would have to be pulled out to gain access. I use all the space the truck offers.. this would be like going backwards for me..

I do like the color tho..:D

    Yo GT!

Danny here, we met a couple of years ago when I was visiting my dad. Sorry to hear that your still on the transplant list, hope that gets sorted soon. Love the rear bumper addition bro! I'm having one fabbed up by a local here, AOF. He's got some skills.
Anyway, I guess you're going in another direction with the setup, huh? I just got a RTT, and love it!

Hope everything else is going well for you GT, take care bro.

Anyone thinking about this, I've seen it in person and can vouch for the condition of it. GT knows how to take care of his gear, do it!!!

Now that we have the camper trailer, when the whole family goes camping we take it, when it’s just me, or me and my son we will use the new setup that I’m still planning.

Thanks for the kind words man. Yeah, the transplant list wait is long but hopefully I’ll get “the call” soon. I finally found the correct iPad dash kit that Shane made for my truck and will be installing it soon. Ever since I saw yours I knew I needed it.

We moved out of that house last week but haven’t sold it yet. We aren’t too far away - closer to the Air Force base - so let me know when you coming back out so we can catch up.

I've seen this FlipPac in person and it is awesome for sure. Well taken care of and ready to go on an adventure. I would have scooped this up in a heartbeat if I wasn't heading in a different direction.

The rear slider opens from the truck cab side for security. I can say that I’ve never opened it.
