quick question...where did you get your emblem? I have looked around and only found ones that attach with 3M tape. I really like yours that actually bolt threw the mesh...I feel it is stronger :)

do you have a web site that you bought them from?

So I finally finished! took about a week of 2-3 hour sessions when i had time. thanks for the great instructions. I would have bombed this so bad without such an easy to follow reference...

I used ziptie mounts with epoxy to avoid drilling. I also screwed up the template pretty good on my cutouts( the cuts weren't flush at all) so i had to use some plastic strips to back my cutouts, all held together with a generous amount of epoxy and epoxy putty filler...
I will trim it down to fit closer and may add a putty trim or something like that to minimize the sharp stuff.

    Heres the horn relocate.....

another pic of the ugliness it was
    [IMG]
it was really hard to get completely smooth, in fact near impossible without getting into a major resurfacing, but WTF-ever i am done now and no one will know but me... Sometime soon... the light bracket mount!!!.... and I still need the emblem off my old truck...

How did you do the "TOYOTA" here? My satoshi needs something like that - still plain at the moment.

You have to relocate the horn to use this? Looks like a project I could handle.

Thanks for the great write-up. I did it this weekend and so far so good.

I did not relocate the horns but I did reverse them. Now they face each other and are tucked under the core support. I had to bend the mounting tabs a bit so the horns did not rub on the condenser.

Also, I used JB weld "stick" to attach 4 machine screws to the grill and used the screws to mount the bottem of the mesh screen. I used zip ties on the top, but will probaly go back and change it to screws after I see the JB weld doesn't break off after time, weather, heat and vibration. Again thanks!

    Good Post, Great Idea.
I'm starting the inserts and wondering if your's needed to be curved at the front (Pointed end). My grill has a curved contour to it as the cut outs approach the front. Pics included, hope they show the curve. Your inserts appear completely flat. Am I right?
I'll Probably try a heat gun, but getting the curve just right seems unlikely.

you're right, they were pretty much flat.

just epoxy them in as close to flush as you can, then sand until the surfaces are even. doesn't have to be perfect 'cause the finishing putty will blend the seam, but the smoother you get it with the sanding step, the less putty you'll need later. :)
