Lol you and me both...I'm dropping the truck off tonight so they can check the Diff howl, window rattle & 15k service. I'm praying that they don't give me a hard time over the howl cause it's at the point I hear it over my music.

 

DAMN Mike! You have that howling problem too? I remember when you and I met up, when you grabbed the bed mat, you said you didn't have it... that sucks man. Hopefully they'll take care of that for ya.

 

Yeah I hear ya. I'm hoping they don't take a look at my wiring under the hood and say "So you're having electrical problems? No wonder!" But I know that's exactly what will happen.

 

Yeah, not sure if it was something that I was ignoring or it developed. I've tried reading through some of the threads on it and I've seen every possibility of outcomes from people. They fixed my LCA whistle/howl so I'm hoping this is equally as painless.

 

2016 my truck had a plate light out at inspection. Cold weather and all I just told them to fix it. A few min later the manager and tech come in saying I have no taillights and they can't pass me. He said I know they worked when I pulled it in, can you leave it tonight?

I told him that's right they did work and they will work before I leave being that you just admitted they worked before you did anything. He said it's the aftermarket taillights that are causing the problem.

After I got done laughing, I told him they are Toyota OEM that came with the truck new. He said that was impossible and I rattled off the years they had it in the 2nd gen..and that my PIAA lights up front are totally on their own thing before he tries saying that's the problem.

A few minutes later he says gee I pulled all the fuses and they're not broken. So I ask where..under the hood was the reply. I said "well you didn't pull all of them, check inside the truck". Since he felt that wasn't true, I marched my ass out there and showed him the block on the drivers' side. WTF

 

I think the frame inspection I had today is the first time my truck has seen service at a dealership.

 

I wont tell you my other story then lol. My dad's truck had issues with his horns before

 

Just checked my email, I have one from the dealership I bought my reg cab from and it was about how I might be paying a higher interest rate than I'm qualified for. Funny thing about it is I paid my truck off a year early, it has been paid off since August of last year

 

Wow. I just walked out of work and it wasn't quite dark out yet

 

The dealership I bought my '13 from is always calling me telling me they want my 13 back and can put me into a new truck for little to no difference. I dont' think the salesman realized I own a 2016 already, bought from the same dealership. I wish I had kept the salvage, I would have dropped it off and been like, where's my new truck?

I have the same howl. I can easily replicate it from 58-62 MPH with no issues. The problem is that the replacement differential isn't necessarily a fix. I was thinking of just having them note it and if Toyota gets a blanket fix prior to my 5/60 being up, I'll request it. My hood release doesn't work well and my HVAC knobs are sticky. Once of these days I"ll drop it off and have them fix it.

 

Yup, exact thing I've got. I was contemplating about leaving it until a known fix was found but, I figured the fix isn'tshouldn't harm anything. Best case it's fixed, worst case it still howls and I'm back at square 2(meaning it's been documented and attempted to be fixed). I'll let you know what I found out about it tomorrow.

I see that you also have an MT, quick question, when you're approaching a light that just changed to red, put in the clutch, shift into 1st gear, use brakes to come to a stop. When/if you put it into 1st does your transmission/diff/etc. scream or howl until the rpms/speed drop significantly? I've never had something like that happen in my stang but, the 2 cars are also 21 years apart; so I'm not sure if I'm thinking there's an issue when there isn't.

 

A guy from work and I take turns commuting and we meet up in enfield so today I left my truck in the parking lot in enfield and came back to this on my windshield
