You've heard mine right, plenty loud but not too raspy and plenty of grumble...

Will 2nd gen blocks for the front work on our trucks? Looking for a second opinion.

I have the same setup and mine is super raspy. Especially under wot around 4k. I don't think I've heard a worse sound in my life haha I'm hoping it's just because the pipe connecting the cat to muffler is a slightly smaller diameter and once that is replaced it will be better. Do you have a flex pipe after the collector? I keep blowing gaskets/bolts backing out at that joint.

I am just about to drop the front diff, does anyone have any short cuts for it, instead of undoing the lbj and tie rod end and then pulling the cv’s?

Don't have a sound clip but I did straight pipe no cat and side dump. I would recommend a muffler haha. I can be heard inside the shop from 3 miles away... sounds kinda good and makes it super fun to drive. It will give you a slight ringing sound in your ears if you open the passenger window. Pedestrians defiantly stay the hell out of your way haha. 20170713_172857.jpg

I took 2.5" od pipe and cut a 1" chunk off sliced a 1/4" out of it and crimped the ends together and slid it on to the existing exhaust where it was cut off. 2.5" od pipe slides right on tight and weld the seams. Now your 2.5" instead of the goofy 2.18" pipe Toyota uses.

Late to the color convo but Nautical Blue Metallic all day. Second would be Imperial Jade.

One of the first first gen's I fell in love with was an imperial jade mica with bronze TRD wheels. Sadly it did not have a rear locker and I settled on Lunar mist. But lucky for me Lunar mist hides a ton of scratches because I have a TON.

I think the California BAR A would have a heart attack if I bring in a straight pipe without a Catalytic Converter in haha

Another +1 for Imperial Jade Mica. If I could have found a 4WD DC in that color I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

You probably have the wrong gasket then, LCE supplies the right one but when it comes time to replace it they tell you the wrong part number. I can dig it up later for ya, AutoZone has it and it's just a normal FelPro deal. I'm gonna guess you have the two cat setup which may sound different, but you could always add a resonator before the muffler to deepen it more. Remember it is a 4cyl though it's still gonna sound like a pissed off Honda to some degree when you're at high rpm, nothing you can do about that. Mine sounds good to about 3750-4000 then it gets kinda screamy haha.
