I figured the 4wd was needed. Just throwing the cost out there. I’d throw an f150 v8 in the mix as well. 2017 so you’d still be able to get it with the 6 speed tranny

I’ll take a look; not likely gonna buy new. My taco is a lease that was cheap and completely paid for by VW buying my diesel back.
Wifey and I are on a modified Dave Ramsey plan...

I did a bit of a modified Dave Ramsey some years ago, it really worked well!

I owe on half of my Tacoma, that's it.

It should be noted that in order to maintain good credit, however, you should maintain at least THREE trade lines. I only have 2 now (truck and Visa), and my credit has actually suffered (score was 769 last time I checked).

BTW 769 is a excellent score!

The first time I heard this one on my Pandora mix I totally fell in love.

This whole album's good, but this one's the first one I heard from these guys.

Eh, I think it was 807 when we refinanced the house a few years back. It's paid off now.

My only issue with his method is I contribute 10% of my salary to a state pension which I can’t opt out of; makes it slower to continue the snowball.

It ain't easy, that's for sure.

I have to re-balance stuff since we paid off the house (August?), but I'm at 23% into my 401K. I need to get a bunch of that into a Roth before April.

I'm a fairly good example of how anybody can do this though, you'd shit if I told y'all what my base wage was...

Ours was slow at first until we really cinched down on the budget and put every extra penny into the snowball. Got everything paid off. My wife got hurt at work and was out, insurance denied her claim and her position was eliminated. We were able to make it on just my income. (We did win the lawsuit!)

I have confidence that we’ll get there easily. We’ve paid off 3 big things so far and it feels great. My truck lease is being paid through money that was set aside from the VW diesel settlement. I also like having a cash reserve (more than the recommended $1000 emergency fund) in case we need it. We also have short and long term disability for the just in case.

Do you have to buy something to learn how to do his method of paying off debt? Like books or something of that nature?

I never bought anything, myself. Never read his book (books?).

I caught a good thread on "ar15.com" where a bunch of folks were discussing the general techniques, for me I guess I picked up most of the general idea there.

Sadly I don't have any kind of link, this was years ago.

You don't need to buy anything. His website outlines the basics, baby steps, is how he puts it. After that, listening to his podcast can answer a lot of your questions. And his budgeting tool can be used for free!

We're also debt free but the house.

We just have our 2 cars (1 on track to be paid off in 1 year and the other in 2) and the mortgage. Always been curious about the Ramsey ideas/plans.
