    Hi Everyone,
I just joined and wanted to introduce myself... I don't yet have a Tacoma but I wanted to join in order to learn about Tacomas as my hope is to get a used Tacoma for my second vehicle next year or so! I currently drive a 2016 Camaro and a civic as my winter car( yeah a civic.. hence why i want a truck for winter haha) I hope to learn a lot about Tacomas in here and will help with my purchase of one in the near future :) Any tips or advice for what to look for when buying them is much appreciated.

I have a 4Runner now, had a 2016 Tacoma, wasn't really a fan and ended up selling it. My uncle has a 2015 Tacoma that is awesome I've driven it a few times and I figured the 2016 would be even better. Wasn't a bad truck just had one too many "normal" issues...

Sounds like a good plan, 2nd gen's feel a lot more solid in my opinion.

Welcome. What's your budget? I assume 4x4 since you plan on using in snow.

thank you! and yeah def 4x4 TRD if i can get one cheap enough and my budget would probably be under 10-15K definitely a 2nd gen... its only going to be used for winter and probably a little during the year for lugging stuff and what not but i drive my Camaro in spring, summer and fall (until it snows), so something with 100K miles will last me a long times esp from what I've heard Tacomas last well over 200K if well maintained. Also I probably wont be fully interested in one till next year since winter is only another month or so it'd be pointless to waste money on a truck now :)

Not sure if you've started pricing Tacomas yet but realistically, your budget is low for a TRD 2nd Gen 4x4. Typically trucks in that price range would be non-TRD Access Cab and will have over 180K plus miles for a clean title truck. Just this week there was a new member with a budget of $17K looking for a 2nd Gen TRD 4x4 double cab and pretty much all the replies were about the budget being low. With that said, $10-15K will get you a 1st Gen 4x4 with about 100-150K miles. Good luck with your search.

i think it all depends on location... i did some research and right now there 2nd gen trd 4x4 are about 15-18 near me so i figured by next year or so they will come down in price by then. theres a bunch of non trd access cabs going around 10-15 with like 130 -150K miles on them
