I'd double check the wiring configuration first and then the connectors; something might be lose and barely making contact.

That’s what I figured initially. Especially since hazards work fine. Connections are soldered. Only area I have not checked is connection on resistor that came soldered with heat shrink insulation. There was a slight bend at the connection but figuremust be ok since hazards work.

I noticed today that when it’s on “auto” headlights it’s seems to act up. When I have parking lights on- it works.

Waiting for 9 Ohm to come in and see if that makes a difference.

    Aloha!

That video was an awesome MOD for your truck and it's exactly what I've been looking for and would like to complete. Can you share with me your wiring diagram please!

    Welcome to the forums!!

Check out page 6 of this thread for the wiring diagram, but note that we are still figuring out what ohm resistor will work without any issues. Some of us have had no issues with 5 or 6 ohm resistors, but not everyone. To be safe, you will probably need a 9 ohm resistor like toyomaniac17 is going to try.

I live on island if you want to check out my setup or need any help, so just let me know if you'd like to meet!

lol, it sure made for an interesting morning! What baffles me is why it took them 38 minutes to send out a message to correct themselves!!!

    UPDATE

Hopefully, this will be the final troubleshooting I'll need to do for this mod.

As I told you before, I used the 8 Ohm resistors - worked fine on my driver side taillight but my passenger side would do the following... ( first time posting video so hope I do it right)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-YTsU6MrNU

This seemed to be a similar pattern to when I had the original (6 Ohm?) resistor, so I've seen that others have used the 9 Ohm resistor with success. So I switched out the passenger side only with a 9 ohm

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do1GyW2RSAs

Hopefully I linked the videos properly.

Glad it finally worked out! I guess 8ohm or 9ohm are the way to go.

I sent DD a “friendly” email for all their help - NOT! I’ve read some positive stuff about their customer support and was so aggravated with their lack of help and guidance in troubleshooting. I’m hoping their products at least live up to their reputation.

    Thanks to all again!

Finally! lol You sure have had an ordeal!

Thanks for all the updates. It'll help others from having these issues in the future...we just need to make sure they use the 9 ohms right off the bat.

Cheers and enjoy the (finally functioning) setup

It's a cheap, quick and easy one. Do it now :stirthepot:

Also for anyone interested, it's been a while since I've done mine and still no issues. This has been a few snow storms in already too.

First I need to buy the bulbs. But I want to plan it out because I am not sure if I am going with some blacked out Winjets or the Pro knockoffs I see on ebay. I think both function like the OEMs.
