Hard hat is a formality.

 

Hard hat is about 18 years old. Been building labs for a long time.

Looks new coz I haven’t let shit fall on my head.

But I should change it tho. The internal sweatband is starting to fall apart.

 

Mouse is the formality. I have to pretend I can read CAD

 

I asked for a bigger computer screen because my vision is not what it used to be.

So the IT fnuckers sent me a 27”. Now no room on my dinky desk for my food and beverages.

Gonna be worse when the 2nd screen arrives. Gonna need a bigger desk.

 

I wish I was an engineer. From what I’ve witnessed in the past many years... they live an easy life.

 

Gotta get on that 3 monitor time Lloyd.

Feel free to walk a mile in my shoes. Long hours, ridiculous stress, incompetent support if you get it at all, and I haven't seen a realistic schedule in 20 years. If I did not have a family to support I would have changed careers 25 years ago. We used to ask, where are all the engineers we graduated with? Truth is, most of them chucked it after a few years due to the excessive bullshit.

I'd take a photo of my setup but the new job has me working 4 10's

 

Web developer for a Pharma ad agency. Half creative/ half technical. Usually it's a pretty sweet gig ha.

 

Sounds like a pretty sweet gig!!! I'm a Mechanical Designer, so technical and creative as well! best of both worlds really

 

Boxed frame, and x brace to stiffen things up. Keep from twisting things.
