Seatbelt chime comes on when passenger gets out

After letting a passenger out the seatbelt chimes and the seatbelt light comes on.
To clear it I have to stop, turn the truck off,and then start the truck to clear the chims and light.
What am I doing wrong ? Why can't I let my passenger out with out all the lights and chimes coming on?

 

If the door is opened before you put it in park the chimes will go off. Happens to me if I open my door before I put it in park. Not sure if same for passenger doors as I never have a passenger. It's just telling you someone opened a door before you stopped.

 

So if I put the truck in park before the door is open, the chim and lights shouldn't be on...?

 

It should show door open but go out when it's closed. Should he no chimes tho.

Or it's a trip to the shop and another computer fix by the redheaded kid with the pocket protector.

I've let plenty of people out of the truck before while still running and not in park and no chimes. I think you have a problem with the seat sensor.

I have the ejecto seato mod, and when I activate it, the seatbelt turns off automatically. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in your near future.

 

I've noticed the sensor is very sensitive. On a couple of occasions my laptop backpack was enough to keep the seatbelt light in the cluster from going out.

Mystery solved.....Turns out the seat covers I had were to tight. Making the seat think someone was still there.
So we loosen the straps on the seats and no more proplem......
