If I had someone to go with me and help me drive it straight through? Yeah maybe

But my days of making that drive solo are gone, my body just can't handle it

You were sight seeing as well iirc. 10 days is a nice pace to see cool shit.

What about trying to find a salvage rear axle, bolt it on, and drive out? Would that work?

If I could find one to rip parts from... maybe?
But in my opinion all the 3rd gen rear ends are ticking time bombs so you might end up with one even worse than what I have (just a consideration I have)

But I couldn't pull a full rear end because I am running SUA and aftermarket shock locations

Gotcha. Just brainstorming. Maybe just pulling one for spare parts and chance the drive. If you broke down, you'd have the bits to temp it up and get you there. Not sure what it would take to weld up the mount tabs to another axle all together. All probably more questions than answers.

Mysterious driver's side floor knock solved!

Went away after I kicked the shit out of my tire while pumping gas.
I was mostly knocking snow off my boots. Heard the knock sound the first tap, so I tried again and harder. No more knock.

Like you, I think something uncool, but also very cold, was up in this mystery location and caused it.

‘‘Tis the season for that. I don’t even bother diagnosing clunks and rattles until spring once the freeze sets in.

It’s not cheap no matter what you do.

You’re way better off to find somebody locally. Or better yet, tear down the axle and see what’s going on. It’s not hard to pull the axle shafts and pop the third out at all. 3-4 hours for a first timer with hand tools or less than an hour with experience and power tools.

That’s not going to go down anytime soon either. The ELD rules are tightening the market in a big way. I’ve been seeing rates I thought I’d never see a year ago right now.

I think I just need another form or to get here or something. Not all that sure since I don't know what I'm doing.
