there was a story about a month or so ago about a couple pulled over in a tacoma in NE with 60lbs.

 

Was that the one about the grandma bringing "presents" for her kids?

 

yeah..... guy was like 80 and was drifting out of his lane. lady was like 70. driving from CA to VT to give the gift that keeps on giving. claimed they didn't know it was illegal to drive in NE with pot.(which it should be.....)

I applaud them having fun. Oh no i'm 80 and in jail. Haha

 

my concern would be unrestrained weight moving in an accident or emergency stop. It may be hard to get sand bags moving but if it does it will be hard to stop. I have loose sand in a covered container at the front of the bed, which is not far from the axle.

 

I'm in the midwest so lots of ice and snow. Definitely need it for traction even with my Kumho Road Venture AT51s. I'll upgrade to a 4x4 after this Taco dies but I have a feeling that'll be another 10 years

Use a semi truck tube cut in half instead of sandbags.
Lasts forever. Have nice day

 

I've been buying three fifty pound bags of rock every fall. Come spring, it goes onto the driveway to fill the erosion of the year. I have a steep hill in the driveway and this works out pretty well.
