Question about Mufflers

    Yes. Even at idle if the radio is off. But it's not so loud you can't have a conversation at normal volumes.

    If you don't want to hear it in the cab, don't get a 40 series LOL There are other exhaust That are not so aggressive.

    Nearly every exhaust shop will have them in stock as they are pretty common. It cost me $265 total for the exhaust and install with a black stainless 3.5" diameter tail pipe that's 18" long. But the tail pipe was $90 by itself.

    Even with that nightmare of a stock ypipe?

    Seems to me the bottleneck is further upstream.

    Haha, If you check my post history thats the next thing to go amigo. I think the catback makes a tiny/marginal difference. I'm hoping dropping the y will really let it breath.

    We've got a y pipe with two additional catalytic converters that channels into a straight back muffler that tucks over the rear axle and out the side. Its pretty similar to the 2nd gen, we just have additional cats if I'm not mistaken. The Genius engineers at Toyota decided to route our y pipe down under the frame for some idiotic reason.
