Yep, location plays a big part in pricing as well. Hope you find what you're looking for. They're also great outside of winter use. Just go off-road once and you'll be hooked. I understand about having a fast car though but can't take it everywhere like you can with the truck. It was fun for a little while and I miss rowing the gears at times.

You can for sure off-road any Tacoma even the RWD. All depends on where you want to go. 4x4 TRD Off-Road/Baja/TX/Pro will be more capable though because of the locking rear diff and the A-trac system. Only these models will come with it. For basic winter use, you can get a basic 4cyl 4x4 and it's plenty capable as well. I suggest a manual trans for 4cyl though. Those would be in your price range and lower mileage.

I have a '15 TRD 4x4 and a '17 4cyl 4x4. This 4cyl has gotten over areas I thought I'd have a problem with not having a locking rear diff. Driver and picking lines plays a big part though.

cool cool yeah i wouldnt be doing anything crazy like climbing the rocky mountians but a little fun in the snow and off regualr road terrain would be a fun time! so i think a regular 4x4 would be fine! i would probably get a auto just because i commute a good amount for work and auto is easier for sitting in stop and go traffic every morning haha
