So while parked in front of work a school bus decided to back into me (video link below). I have the choice now of replacing with OEM parts or going after market . I am looking at a CBI T3 front bumper right now but not sure about a few things. 1st thing is the added weight to the front end and with that said can my suspension take it. I have a 2in lift on the front using Fox shocks 2.5 coilovers 1.5in aal in the rear. The only other mods I have that matter weight wise is my SOS Concept sliders. I would also like to add a winch at some point after getting a bumper as well.

Shocks will handle it i spoke to a few shop owners who run normal weight springs with 150lb of steal bumpers. With that being said heavier springs would be better but gonna cost ya. I got 650 lb springs for my steal bumper, winch, skid plate with a combined weight of around 125-150lbs. I think you should do it while u got the opportunity to. Maybe you can get a very high quote for repair that pays for new front coils and the bumper

Added weight means more stress on brake, slower stopping, more gas. But they look awesome haha. Capitolize on it! I dont know how much springs cost you have to just find the brand you want. Look at 650-700lbs. There not much. You can probably get away without upgrading rhen do it later

I have 2.5 ICON front coils with 700# springs, T3 aluminum, warn 10s winch and full aluminum skids. I would be concerned if I had full steel, because with the aluminum setup have the coils adjusted to max to get the appropriate level of lift.

I wouldn't worry about that as the deciding factor. T3 is a great bumper, and if you want it, now sounds like the perfect time. You already have better than stock front suspension, so you can figure out getting it dialed in with heavier springs and what not once it's on.

I don't do much off-roading so I would think about getting a aluminum one. Going to have too see what I can get from the insurance company.

Yeah but aren't the 700 coils shorter than the 650 coils which is why you have to max them out? I have 650 coils on my Icons and can't imagine needing 700 even if I add 200lbs to the front. It is so stiff to begin with and I would probably welcome some movement of the suspension.

The 700# coils are an inch longer, 14 instead of 13. Yes they are stiffer, but the 650# barely hold the extra weight. Mine did not provide enough lift and were maxed out before even adding skids.

Larry, this was clearly your fault! Sure looks like you took his favorite spot! But on a serious note, If you are planning on adding a winch bumper and winch you are getting good info on beefing up the suspension to allow for the additional weight. Also, are you thinking steel or aluminum for the bumper?
