After collecting parts for over a year and fiddling with the different parts...I finally made some progress on my aux fuse block. I abandoned the lexan idea; finally broke down and bought the pelfreybilt mount.

Ten relays fit perfectly in two rows of five by zip tying them together, bending the mounting tabs on opposite corners, and angling it slightly to line up with the pre-drilled holes for the fuse panel.

When all is said and done, I'll have all my circuits pre-wired to the switches and will only need to tap into the bus bar with any new accessories.

Thanks! Trying to keep it clean by hiding that mess underneath. The most tedious part is done though! Can't wait to do the switches...

I love love love my newly re-upholstered leather seats! They are actually graphite, not black.

I got such a steal on the covers. Even with buying the hog ring pliers, and hog rings, the whole job cost me less than $250 for katskinz leather. It doesn't have the matching door and rear panels, but I can live with that for the price!

On a side note...

I was going a little stir crazy and had to get out on the trail today for the first time since going to Moab for Rock Therapy.

Boreas pass was closed but I still drove up to the old train turntable (southernmost brown track), Webster pass, and red cone are all closed of course.


Georgia pass wasn't gated (red, orange and brown tracks), and had been recently traveled up to about the 2nd to last switch back before the top of the pass. I eventually started laying fresh tracks around the last few switch backs and finally, with both lockers going 30 or 40 running starts, I was able to make it up all the way up to Georgia pass. i left the way I came and explored all the off shoots I could on the way back to 285. I also did some more exploring off the entrance to red cone and looped back to 285 again (blue, purple and red tracks).

 

so jelly...

Was this at the expense of the Tacoma?

 

No not at all! Quite the opposite actually. I don’t want to put excess highway miles on the truck. Rest assured me and my Tacoma have much more exploring to do. I took a new job and went from working at home to traveling 30+ miles a day down to Englewood. It’s not that bad, but the truck was never intended to be a daily driver it’s really not all that enjoyable to drive in stop and go traffic on 25 with all the mods I’ve done.

 

I’m also going to need to cut back on spending on the truck. It’s 14 years young and needs some TLC. But man what a blast to drive! And I haven’t put 10 miles on it yet.
