anyone have any installed? Tried searching but no one seems to really post about it. Just want it for cosmetic purposes, not a fan of the stock tail pipe. Wanting to get a black one but don’t want to get one that will make it sound ricey as I’ve heard some do. I love the sound of the TRD Sport Tacoma, just looking to up the look of the tail pipe.

If the tip you choose just slips over the existing pipe, it won't affect sound.

If you find a shape/size you like, and it's not black, just paint with BBQ grill paint.

You could spring for a TRD cat back, get the sound you love and the tip.

Or you could cut the existing pipe off where it downturns over the axle, gain ground clearance, have nothing to clean, save $ from a tip cost and pick up a slight bit of sound.

I installed one. Got it off Amazon. Completes the look out back. Sorry though, no pics.

I saw a YT vid of someone installing the AFE exhaust. Def has a black tip but it’s def bigger to accommodate the larger aftermarket tubing. I’m sure either high temp or something like that would b an easier option if u don’t want to change your whole exhaust.

I would like to find a blacked out exhaust tip as well.........to replace the OEM Chrome one that came on my 2017 TRD OR. I have considered taking my chrome one off and painting it with some high heat matte black paint as well. But there has to be a blacked out stock one out there that would be a good replacement.

Will that fit our 3rd Gen Tacoma's though? I think out exhaust has a 2-1/2 pipe? IDK

You bet Clearwater Bill...that's what I did...painted it with flat black BBQ grill paint and even painted up the tailpipe some.

    Thanks for the recommendations everyone!
I do want to find a black tip though, as I do not see a need for cutting it since I don’t do gnarly off roading and what not. I’ve been looking on Amazon and found a DC Sports one but I don’t want to get a weird sound that’ll distort the stock sound so that’s why I have been on the fence about it.
May just paint it, or head down to my local oreilly and see what they got :anonymous:

Yeah, I'm not sure how will the Chrome tip will sandblast, but I will find out. Just not sure when I'll get a chance to do it that's all.

Just sand it with 180 grit sandpaper.
    And paint with engine enamel.

I got the AFE one. Kind of pricey though. This one is 9" in length with 3" opening, so you have to get an adapter . I also had to cut around 5 inches from the pipe and re-weld it so it wouldn't stick out too much. Cant say about durability yet, only had it for two months. Thinking about angling it down a little bit but not ready to cut and weld again yet.AFE exhaust tip.jpg
