I'd love a power rear window

 

Probably one of the only things I "envy" about the 3rd gens... my mom once had one as a rental because her van was in the shop getting fixed, and i hopped in to see what it was doing, and saw it had one of those.

 

I'd open mine more because I like the breeze without all the noise, but I can't reach

 

I hear that. To open it is kinda awkward... gotta do it before you start driving, and close it when you stop, without the power option. Really sucks TBH. I have the cap now, so I might not use it very much, but it'll still be nice to have, if I can get it installed.

 

If you decide you don't use it....holler atcha girl

 

I thought about doing the powered rear slider. I don't have any trouble opening it while driving though.

 

You got it. I'm thinking I'll attempt it in the spring/summer, when it's nice out.

DC... harder to get to it in my case.

I use mine a lot with the cap. I leave it open on really hot days to let some of the hot air out (truck is dark colored and turns into an oven). With the cap, I don't have worry about anything getting into the truck. It also still works to get a breeze when you're driving, even with the cap on. Just crack the front windows and open the rear slider and you get some nice air flow. I love the power slider. I never did it on the Tacoma because my gasket would always get messed up every time I opened it. It was really annoying.

Nope, no build thread... my truck isn't "worthy" of one. I'm not doing all sorts of crazy stuff like the peeps that have one.

I have a power rear slider. Best mod yet. I used a rear slider power window motor from a late model (2011) Ram. Siena rear window switch in the dash left of the steering wheel and a modified BenWa style bracket.

 

Maybe one day... Who knows.

Would you mind helping me install mine when we get together to paint the cap?

LOL! I wouldn't even know where to start. Remembering when I did what would be hard... And I'd have to try and come up with a clever name/tittle.
